This. The smug comments about Lindholm fail to consider that even if that was a planned play by Backlund, it was on the wrong hand for Lindholm to be able to manage anything off a rebound.
For Malkin it landed right on his forehand.

Seems like on the most recent shift after the Pens goal, Lindy was struggling and lost each puck battle or was just off. I hope he picks up his game soon.

No, if he was a lefty it would have been perfect. Lindholm could have played that wider to get set up better. But meh, it wasn't terrible.
Just funny the pens scored on an identical play in transition.

Bad change by Lindholm after that rush. Need to be ready to backcheck immediately if you’re second in on offensive rush on the PK.

Hubs and Lindy need a digger. Toffoli is a decent shooter but does not dig or control pucks.
I think swapping Dube for Toffoli could work. I know that line is jumping but I think Kadri Mangs and Dube all dig.

Yep. The only way that would have worked is if Lindholm was further out from the net to the left, which is a terrible position to be on a 2 on 1. He played it right, wrong handiness was the issue (righty).

This is what I noticed more so than missing the rebound. Going off on that change leaves the penguins with a 4 on 2

First line needs a corner mucker like Tkachuk who can center the puck for Lindholm to shoot. Or a Gaudreau like winger who can carry the puck into the o-zone properly.
The first line is missing all of the above and they are playing dump and chase.

Great save Markstrom.
