Good period. Need to be more disciplined though.

Fairly even period. Ducks had some really solid chances, Flames need to buckle down on those in the 2nd.

Odd & disjointed period.

Flames still more clutch.

Great period by the Flames. Good pushback by the Ducks. They need to lay down now and save their energy for the Oilers tomorrow.

The old famer might be happy with the score but he wont be happy with the defensive play that period.

loosey goosey in their own end...might be starting to feel a bit of fatigue.

Pretty fortunate to be up 2, ducks had a bunch of good looks that they just missed on.

Markstrom was awesome also.

But with some adjustments they should be able to carry the rest of the game

It's a pretty even game so far. Both teams had chances, but a rested Markstrom is like a cheat code for god-mode in goal.

EDIT: oh and Hanifin got hit by a shot, left the game for a bit then came back. Tanev got hit by a high-stick, also left the game and came back.

After he said earlier “he took a couple twirls - doesn’t look good, I doubt he’s back”.

Awful lot of hockey lately. Bound to show. I'm not surprised the Flames coasted a bit with a multi goal lead early.

Andersson has been playing his best hockey of his NHL career. That's two more apples for andy giving him 24. He is playing out of his mind right now and looks to be our #1 for years to come.

Wow is that movie just going to be Channing Tatum talking to a dog in a car for 90 minutes?

First quarter B movies are just getting lazy these days.

What did Troy Terry ever do to Tkachuk? Matthew is all over him every time they’re on the ice together.

Flames were the more physical team, really throwing the body in that period. I love it.

Giving up plenty high danger chances, hope that tidies up.

Ducks are doing a real good job checking in the neutral zone. They are also anticipating the Flames’ board rim passes in the offensive zone and have picked off, or at least disrupted the receiver, quite often. In particular, they are recognizing when a D is the receiver if the need to skate down to the hash marks, and Ducks are sending a forward towards the blue line while another checks. If our D can’t control the puck, high risk of off man rushes against.

This feels like the first team that has really scouted the Flames and have plan to respond

Yup, a weird plateau/pause for a year there, and now he looks like he can play hockey again. Very good to see, I love the guy, love the attitude he brings.
