I'm quietly hoping the next spin-off is the The Book of Luke (or some other name, but about Luke and the Jedi).

Seeing Luke at the height of his power in The Mandolorian was pretty cool.

I'm not really an expert on Star Wars, but I'm not sure what kind of interesting stories they could tell about Luke from the end of ROJ, until he disappeared because of his failure with Ben Solo. Doesn't seem like there was really anyone decent that he battled with once he defeated Vadar and the Emperor.

A computer generated young Luke is okay for a scene, but not a series. The other option is to use a different actor, but that would be just as unappealing.

Part of what made the Mandalorian so good was that he wasn't in the movies, and had total freedom to move around in the SW universe. Boba Fett is already suffering from being tied down due to his previous SW appearances.

If they can get Sebastian Stan to play the role, I'm all for it.

I thought that they'd put Sebastian Stan into the role for his appearance on Mando (when it was speculated that Luke could show up). I'm totally on board, and Marvel is already part of Disney so it's a natural transition...

That side by side is the only picture where winter soldier looks anything remotely similar. Every other pic I look at he’s just way too burly/jaw-y to remind me of Mark Hamill.

I'd agree. He's playing the Winter Solider and Tommy Lee. Polar opposites of Luke.

It just reeks to me of "Solo". Obviously, some didn't dislike that movie as much as I did. The problem with recasting a classic character is that the new actor tries so hard to be the old actor, and rarely gets the character right. So in Solo, we had Alden Ehrenreich trying really hard to emulate Ford's smirks and swager, but it detracts from him actually playing Han Solo.

Oh there are lots of problems recasting an old character.

The major problem we're staring at here is that everyone involved in Star Wars at the moment seems incapable of actually imagining a character, giving them an arc and a story that we care about.

Filoni and Favreau are seemingly the only ones who have successfully managed it.

Thats why they have to keep going back to a well thats been drained bone-dry by this point.

His mannerisms are even similar when you watch interviews.

They'd have my blessing, but only with SS.

I heard he did get invited on the set of Mando. I wonder if that had to do with anything future related.

But I was happy with how it turned out.

The big spoil:

Cade Bane was one of my favorite background characters in Clone Wars, just like Hondo, who's story was actually sad in Rebels.

I am seriously high key expecting Hondo to show up too. He and Boba have met before and there is no canon saying Hondo is dead.....

He's in the Star Wars Disney ride which takes place during the First Order Resistance War so he's still alive.

I think I remember a scene in Clone Wars between Boba and Hondo where Hondo encouraged Boba to do the right thing because that's what his father would do.

Hondo was a great complex character who in the end usually accidentally made the moral choice.

Has to be more 'bad' guys to even out the numbers.

Do we see Bossk? Crimson Dawn?

Of course I have a strong feeling about who else we'll see ..de-aged..
