Maier did pretty good, but Vernon is really bad. I had to chuckle about the Vernon/MOP article on the CFL site, and that was before he threw into triple coverage multiple times last night. He looks like a rookie every night.

DaVaris Daniels just got killed by Bombers DB Alexander. He got up and walked away though. Looked nasty.

I’m a Nick Arbuckle fan so I’m glad to see him win his first start for the Argos. The CFL needs more quality QB’s IMO and he seems like someone who could be a solid pivot for many years.

lol - I'd rather have Jake Maier than Matt Nichols under center. Nichols just finds ways to lose.

Nichols is just brutal. He's attempted 44 passes so far this year, good completion % but only 244 yards over 2 games. A raw rookie in Meier threw over 300 in his first ever start. Then again in Redblacks short history they've just signed players off other teams especially QBs (Burris, Harris, Arbuckle, Nichols)...no development at all.

I'm sure Ottawa is already putting an offer together to trade for Meier next year.

I hope there's a fine for that. I can't believe the officials on the field didn't throw the flag as they should be embarrassed the replay booth had to bail them out. Bombers are kind of a dirty team IMO.

Stampeders East look better than Stampeders West. Still not sure how they could sign all those players that were too expensive for Huff to retain over the years and remain salary cap compliant but I suppose that's what happens in a league where the salary cap is a big secret.

Yikes. For the sake of the players I hope they have at least 85% vaccinated. Losing a game cheque is NOT a great way to build team unity...

I think they will try to reschedule first. Once the bye weeks are over for teams there could be situations where rescheduling will be more difficult.

Interesting the NFL has a much more heavy hand dealing with players and staff not vaccinated. (Not saying these players weren’t don’t know)

But this season could be over before it really gets started if the league is relying on luck and players maintaining social distance.

Already discussed in the FOI forum, but CSEC will require fans to be vaccinated in order to enter McMahon starting September 15.

This isn't until after the Labor Day Classic (which is typically close to capacity), but I'm not going to complain. I could easily see things going sideways with 45k are trying to get into the stadium.

According to this article, 5 Elks players tested positive on Sunday, followed by 4 more on Monday. That's in addition to the three that tested positive prior to the season.

As for re-scheduling, I'm not sure how they'll be able to do it without (i) moving multiple games, or (ii) giving one team two extremely short weeks between games. I don't think the latter is feasible due to player safety, and the former will be problematic if (when?) an outbreak occurs and another game needs to be re-scheduled.

My guess is that they will kick the can to later in the season -- in the event additional games need to be re-scheduled, or perhaps Edmonton will be out of the playoffs by then such that a loss by default won't matter in the standings.

I’m an Elks fan and a supporter of COVID protocols and vaccinations. I’m disgusted with this and think that GM Chris Presson should be fired for this monumental screw up.
