Playing in rinks with no fans present is another big negative.

Just saying Tkachuk alone probably doesn't get it done. Adding Dube might not either, since CBJ was clearly high on getting Roslovic as a replacement C.
I'd rather have done something around JG+SM for Dubois+ (probably involves Nyquist/Dubinsky)...again not sure if that tops WPG's offer.

Tkachuk does not make players around him better. Before this season you could easily argue that Tkachuk was dragging guys into the fight, and performing most nights.

I agree with a lot of your post, but not the bolded. IMO Lindholm is the only guy with a bit of a midas touch, but next on that list are MT, Backlund, and Lucic.
I'm certainly more confident that the 'real' MT is closer to the guy he was the past 2 seasons than is the case with JG and/or SM.

Something is wrong with people that think Bennett and Monahan are still getting better
I give Tkachuk a pass for this year but if it happens again next year,! I’d put him on the list also

I would ask about the details of Tkachuk's contract going forward but I don't think I want to know the answer.

I’ve seen no one saying Bennett is getting better. Some people say Monahan is getting better at things other than scoring (but he’s taken a dive off of a cliff in that).

Either he signs something reasonable or takes a quantifying contract and goes UFA after that. No one should be signing him at 9 million long term. If the Flames get the sense he won't sign, I think he is gone.

How long until someone posts a gif of that breakaway goal?

Nice goal tonight on the breakaway. Have to give some credit there.
But aside from that he is absolutely useless in the O-zone. WTF is up with whipping the puck back to the point with zero consideration for the dman being able to handle the pass? It's absolute garbage.

You could argue Sean Monahan did at 24 also.
Something wrong with Flames player development?

No, they just don't have the right centers to marry it all together and this organization hasn't had that center for decades. It's funny how just having the right guy(s) up the middle can change absolutely everything. Phil Kessel for example goes from playing with Evgeni Malkin where he's scoring a point per game (actually hit 92 in 17-18) to then playing with Derek Stepan in Arizona and his point totals crater. From the span of only a few months, his production basically cuts in half (38 points in 70 games). Still playing the same minutes, same situations, just a different team, much different type of center.

He set up Lindholm with a few point blank chances and he just didn't have it tonight. Lindholm has had a very pedestrian season.

I agree he has been underwhelming
But this 66 point pace over 82 this year would actually be his best career season outside of the outlying 78 points in 2018-19

I agree, that Tkachuk statistically is not doing that bad.
An issue Calgary has, is they need Tkachuk is produce more than he is capable of.
Tkachuk isn't an elite level talent. He is a great piece to the puzzle of building a contender, but he can't be your top offensive guy, or your team won't be very good.
His game is off, regardless of his points, as well as much of the Flames. Look at Lindholm. He is having statistically a terrible year. A lot would argue he is our best player, as he works hard and does it all. I would argue, he is much like Tkachuk and other top players on the Flames team this year, which is best put as - "off".
