I was always partial to Little Jumbo. The truffle frites were phenomenal as I recall.

I'm not against renting, but the market is very tight here, and for what we want, we might as well just move to a market where we can buy.

Jesus, AFC that one burns deep.

3 hours to Edmonton.

Seattle is great. It's true.

The thing that I would miss the most about Vancouver is the influence of different Asian cultures.

Yeah, but Calgary's got Red Deer, and Airdrie but 3 and 90 minutes away. Their cultural significance, cannot be overstated.

Little Jumbo has decent cocktails. Veneto always had some of my favourite drinks but they changed to The Palms, and the guy running the place looks like an 1980s Miami coke dealer. So I guess they have a theme at least.

Isn’t the super hot real estate market the influence of Asian cultures?

Oh it's worse, 3 hours on a mundane hwy to Edmonton via red Deer or two hours on one of the prettiest ferry trips you'll likely ever take past soaring snow capped peaks and pods of killer whales to be dropped off on the Seattle Waterfront, one of the coolest cities in N America

I've only driven it, never taken the ferry. I better queue that one up.

I used to drive north towards Edmonton all the time but always turn off at Airport Trail and get on a plane to Seattle instead.

I’ve lived in Calgary for 18 years. I’ve been to Edmonton twice. Once for one day for work and one day for a family wedding. Two days too many. I’d never go just because for somewhere to go.

Yeah the Victoria harbour to Seattle harbour trip is pretty rad. Passenger-only, high-speed catarman, with a full bar on board.

It's not cheap, but definitely the best way to go if you're doing Victoria to Seattle.

No, I'm friends with a guy who is. Can't say I remember the murals, but I was pretty liquored both times I was there.

I think Peter nails Vancouver in his thread. Its fine place to visit, not great, the food scene there is overhyped to the Max, people are self absorbed aholes, the weather sucks, etc.

I have been there more times than I can count and with housing the way it is, there is no way I would live there. It would be like living in a hyper-Portlandia, and not the charming skit one.

You are thinking too locally, Peter, you should look more globally! May I suggest Port-aux-Français in the French Southern Territories?

Spoiler!

I feel like you made it far too easy on him to figure out your ruse, your cunning attempt to trick him.
