Because oiler fans are known for the clever elegance of their quips lol.
I don't think I've ever been impressed by any insult aimed at us from a single ATL or local post.
They attac from the same primal region of the brain that Zach Kassian operates from on a daily basis.

Just heard on Vancouver radio (Sportsnet 650 since TSN1040 is dead) that Calgary is 16-4-4 in their last 24 games against the Canucks.

Gio had his best game of the season. Andersson had his worst (was awful)
Dube was benched, but he has been fine IMO, while Tkachuk has been a disaster.
Mangiapane continues to shine. For me, he, Gaudreau, and Monahan have been the best forwards this year. Backlund and Lucic are making a late charge.

Since the Sedins declined/retired the season series has flipped as they owned the Flames for a period of time.

Oiler fans calling the Flames frauds is rich. This coming from a team that has won their first game in over 3 years when McDavid or Drasaitl are held off the scoresheet. Without even one of those two, their team would pretty much be 90's expansion Sens bad.

I’ve heard both Nesterov (on the Boeser goal) and Monahan (on his penalty) described as lazy which I think is unfair. Nesterov hustled to try and break up a breakaway by Boeser, and he succeeded. He and Markstrom both brain cramped and must have thought the puck had deflected away. That’s a mistake. It’s not lazy. Similarly, Monahan had moved back to cover D (responsible) and was doing his best to stick with his man. As a forward covering a rushing guy, he was outmatched but I thought he did a pretty good job until his stick got a little tangled, and the Canuck went down pretty easily as well. Not lazy - just caught in a bad spot and he took a penalty. It happens. Ras’ penalty was way worse.

Yea both Monahan and Nestorov were covering for Valimaki who was caught deep.
Valimaki has been caught deep a lot or made a lot of bad reads and decisions defensively. That’s to be expected of a young defenseman, but he gets so much love on this board and can do no wrong because he’s the new shiny toy. His mistakes are blamed on others. That’s the benefit of being a hot shot rookie, high draft pick, and being on a cheap contract.
He will be fine, I think he’s going to be a Rob Blake type of defenseman for us but he still has a lot to learn. He’s in the perfect spot as the third pairing defenseman.

He isn't helping the club much right now particularly in the offensive end, but he has been pretty good defensively.
Hardly a "disaster" but for sure needs to pick it up.
He just hasnt been himself since the Muzzin puck flip....i think he was PO'ed his guys didnt come flying in and start a scrum. Then again, im not sure how many guys actually saw it happen.

Yeah, and how many of those Flames losses were because Markstrom stole the game for the nucks?
Hard to believe they let him go.

He has made some mistakes, but what we’re seeing along with those mistakes is his increasing poise. You can see that he has more confidence with the puck in his stick, and he’s not afraid to hold onto it and make a move. His ability to get picks through crowds and towards the net is impressive already. He’s a young player, and his positives are now out weighing the negatives so as long as we continue to see that trend I think there will continue to be a lot of forgiveness from fans and his team mates

Ya Chucky was awful. He had that noticeable shift early in the 3rd where a Canuck D almost passed to him in the slot. I rewatched that shift and he literally stopped skating letting a canuck skate to the Flames slot with the puck. This is the PLD type shift we were discussing lately.
At that moment I thought, wow, last we see of him tonight.
He was out on the ice a minute later again. Perplexing coaching.
Someone mentioned that he makes a play and then watches it standing still. That is so true and weird at the same time.

Yes that was great. Canuck fans are much more creative than Oiler fans when it comes to these things.
To add on to it, it’s like Quinn is still waiting for Daddy Tanev to come back only to see him at school as Step Daddy to Little Noah at parent teacher conferences.
Heartbreaking!

I meant offensively. I agree that he has been fine defensively, but that line is generating nothing offensively at all. And I think Tkachuk is a major reason for it - way too many selfish, lazy, and stupid plays.

Found this hilarious. It's all we heard on this board from resident Canuck fans in the offseason!

But it is Dube that keeps getting benched. I have been happy with Dube's game, personally.

Really? I thought Valamaki was the goat on this play. Let's Boeser get behind him. Let's the pass get by him. Does not hustle back to support Nesterov. And watches as Boeser has all day to poke in the loose puck on a second chance play.

It was extra juicy given it was one of Blaster's offseason talking points.

I find myself marveling at his puck handling skills. He is such a good player; it's amazing that he was a a late-second round pick.
