People seem to be forgetting the Flames Organisation got rid of a head coach a couple years ago for allegedly making racist comments. It probably costed them a fair amount of change for a settlement.

I highly doubt Treliving would throw away their reputation for wanting to take in another racist

I'm all for trading Bennett but not for that scumbag! I'd rather keep Bennett if the trade involves DeAngelo!

I agree with you about second chances. This is more like a tenth chance for this guy. He's had many warnings and even discipline hearings. It might not be the worst thing for this guy if he had to work his way back into the league. He has the right to alternate political views, but not the right to attack everyone.

There’s just so many red flags that it’s not really worth it.
Wouldn't be bad if Lucic pastes him in the Saddledome wall.

Not only did they fire him. They fired him....wait...he was urged to resign for comments he made many years prior to his stint with the Flames, and Carolina. And let's not forget the issues he had with player abuse in Carolina.

And people are trying to justify being okay for the organization to acquire a 0layer who has a worse and even more recent history than Peters?

Like I said before, I'd be turning in my fan card if they acquired him. Feel more than just the reason that DeAngelo is a repulsive human being to me. I'd be turning in my fan card for the hypocrisy of upper management. For trading a good team player for a known, well documented public cancer.

The idea of this trade flies in the face of the very statement the organization proclaimed when the Peters situation came to a head.

I can't cheer for a team that back pedals on a morality mandate like that.

A QAnon and Trump supporting, covid denier? He would fit better in Alberta than in a lot of other markets.

I work with a whole pile of crusty old oil patch workers, and I would describe them as Trump supporting covid deniers for sure. Even the crusty young ones aren't much better either.

Again, what stats? What am I looking for?

I get really tired of hearing how bigoted Albertans are when we have the youngest and most highly education population in the country. My family wasn't raised in Alberta. Most people I know who live here are first generation Albertans.

Do people come from around Canada to work here and suddenly become bigoted, or is there maybe something else?

If we bring in DeAngelo we might as well also hire Babcock. We're already going to get lit the f up by the league fanbases/ media, should just go for broke.
