Not too bad after about halfway through the PP. just need to keep building on that after the intermission.

I think it's the shot selection - great that they're at least getting it on net but they all seem to be right into the crest or trapper.

Keep that puck 10" off the ice or lower and watch Khudobin kick every single rebound out.

We refuse to put our wingers on they off wings on the PP so we don't even allow our players to try the one time from the top of the circle.

Better end to the period.

I think Gaudreau needs to be off PP1. Move someone else in and let him run PP1 against a weaker PK unit.

Pretty low quality hockey that period.

A big 40 minutes. Come on Johnny and Sean! Start executing, deliver the goods!

That was certainly cool, maybe the best part of the period!

Man Flames held the Stars to no shots in basically the last 8 minutes yet everyone here is so angry lol. Also Johnny gets dumped on so much, he made a nice feed to Mony early that brought him in alone, he forced a turnover that led to a rush. Was he perfect? No, but he’s been wayyyyy better than his linemates.

Seriously I haven’t followed a game thread in forever and today I hopped on, but now I remember why I stopped in the first place.

The Flames did well to settle things down for the second half of the period. Hopefully they can build from that.

Exactly like Gaudreau did on his point shot. Stop trying to pick corners and go for an ugly goal.

The Flames are extremely lucky not to be down by 1 or 2.

Its pitiful.

Such ####y attitudes all around here, meanwhile the Flames don't allow anything in the last 8 minutes and look quite composed.

Even when they do it's like the players are so out of sync with each other they are never in the right position.

Pretty ugly period by both teams. Flames didn't show any urgency until the dying seconds of that PP. Hopefully they'll wake up in the 2nd and start hitting again. When the Flames get their forecheck going, they can be relentless. I want to see more of that going forward.

I have no idea what the plan is but for years we have always had our guys stop at the opposing blue line and just stand there. It's bizarre that this is a thing.

You would think they see Dallas transition quickly and want to emulate but nope. 2 D to D passes required before we head up ice.

Just so frustrating to watch. It's no wonder the only line with any success is the one with speed and can actually play dump and chase.
