O'Reilly and Schenn have combined for 35 points

Monahan and Backlund 24 points.

Apparently the Blues turned the puck over 7 times as a team tonight. Gaudreau turned it over 7 times himself. That was the worst game I have ever seen him play for the Flames. Pathetic effort in OT, he wouldn’t even come back to help Rittich out.

I’m not sure what’s up but he looks completely disinterested and doesn’t look like he’s having much fun (he didn’t even smile after scoring against Jersey the other night). It’s concerning for sure.

I'm glad these guys will finally get some time to rest and practice their fundamentals, especially Johnny and Mony.

Yes, the top two centres on the Stanley cup Champs and one of the hottest teams in the league are better than the top two centres in the Flames.

It's not breaking news.

Man, I sure enjoyed the game tonight.
Saturday night, Hockey Night in Canada against the cup Champs, come from behind to force OT; it was fun. I watch hockey and cheer for the Flames cause it is fun.
The Flames are a good team. Flawed, yes, but still good.
I'm looking forward to enjoying more games like this one.

Brian Burke has weird takes. That’s all I ever think when I hear him comment post game or during intermission. I just find his insight not very...interesting.

He's right. The always smiling/growling/yelling enthusiastic small guy who couldn't see an obstacle big enough to stop him and his love for the game, seems to have found one.

Really hope he figures it out soon and gets it dealt with what ever it is. Until then its going to keep looking like this. He has been awful regardless of some offense on the season.

Everyone knows how good he can be...but he aint anywhere close to that right now.
I noticed how off he looked in a recent intermission interview that he gave, I think it was the one after he broke his goalless streak. Definitely doesn't look like his usual self, even when celebrating a goal.

Just take it easy, you are irrationally angry. Take a deep breath and don't say anything more you'll regret. It's not worth it. No hard feelings.
I think no one likes seeing the flames lose. Certain players always seem to take the heat for it. I agree with you that Brodie makes mistakes, but so does every other player. This board doesn't ever go full meltdown when Gio makes mistakes (and his defensive play has not been good this season). I actually don't mine Brodie on our D. I think there is a reason that Peters trust Brodie that he is the only d-man on our team that will play both sides when he gets paired with different partners.

Confidence is a result of doing the little things right over and over.

His early career mental and physical courage has dissipated substantially.

Yes, he looks scared out there.

The frustration and negative energy he displays is the tell tale sign of a weak player.

It’s up to him to become a better competitor.

Patrick Kane has been successful at it. Why not Johnny?
Johnny doesn't play with Toews

Gaudreau and Tkachuk = 36 pts
Schwartz and Sanford = 17 pts

Pathetic. St Louis is a lottery team.

C'mon everyone can play that game.

I was at the game and I thought it was very very even and could’ve gone either way. We just came back from 2-0 in the 3rd against the #1 team in the west and defending champs.
I don’t think many are advocating that the Flames trade JG.

This is a total conspiracy theory and I have nothing to back it up, but could JG be a little upset with Chucky getting more dollars than him but he is stilll expected to carry the team and be a top scorer? It might be sub conciously playing on his mind.

Then again I maybe totally out to lunch.

Those putting this one on Brodie are out of their minds.

One player stood out in OT. And not for the right reasons.

Some really weird takes on this game, especially the events in OT. Sometimes you have to acknowledge the other team makes great plays and forces something to happen. That was what happened in OT. Schwartz made a really good play to anticipate where the pass was going to go then stripped the puck before Gaudreau had a chance to gain full possession. Then Schwartz forced the play on Brodie and made him take a penalty. These were two really good plays by an opposition player, because he forced the play. Give credit where credit is due. The two Flames didn’t make mistakes, they just got beat by a guy that worked harder.

On Johnny Hockey, he has been struggling, and I honestly do believe it is because of something going on outside the game. He just doesn’t look like a guy enjoying life right now. Even when he makes a big play, there is no joy in Mudville. It may be something the team is working through with him and they recognize it is just a matter of time to work it out. Have to trust the team on this.

I thought it was a good game against a really good team playing at the top of their game. No shame in the outcome.

I thought it was a decent game overall. St. Louis is big, fast, hard to play against, and have a very good goalie. Assuming they stay healthy they will be a very tough out in the playoffs again.

I’ll echo other’s thoughts on Johnny, I think he is finding little joy in things and lacks confidence. It’s mostly his head that is the problem, but I also think he could do more to be prepared mentally and physically. If he truly wants to be a great player, he will have to make the commitment to do so - as he has all the natural skill to do so.

I didn’t see anyone mention it yet but I was skimming the thread, I loved the hit by Bennett on Mceachern. He can be so valuable when he plays like that.

Everyone knows you win with elite wingers, and not 3 zone point producing centres.

Just ask Jarome Iginla and Theoren Fleury
