I think Rittich is gonna have a big year, he's getting confident as an NHL starter and I think he can be a legit top 5-15 goalie in the league.

Before he got hurt, he was already a top 5 goalie last year.

Lucic had 5 shots, 8 shot attempts, 4 hits, and some takeaways (as per Loubo).
Pretty good for a night with zero points.

I keep trying to tell my coworker Oilers fan that Neal is garbage now and not to expect anything, but he doesn't want to believe me. Says it must be Calgary's fault he did nothing because he was such a consistent 20 goal scorer until he came to Calgary or something like that. Dude is all aboard the Neal 30 goal bounceback train and it's gonna be hilarious when he continues to suck.

I think Cam Talbot might have something to say about that. He has a lot to prove this season.

On the afternoon show today they said that the Flames would probably send the minimum required number of veterans to SJ on Thurs, and call up a bunch of players from Stockton.

Quote of the night goes to David Rittich concerning his dangerous pass in the slot “Yeah I already checked my pants after that play… I feel confident with my stick right now... and I’m trying to help guys out a little bit more like what Smitty did last season.” #Flames preseason

Flames PK looks very aggressive this year. Happy about that. I hate passive PKs

I was really wanting the offhand shots on the walls for PP but I wonder if it’s easier to make those cross the royal road passes if LS is on LW and same for right side.
Maybe that way you can look shot to open a lane then zip it through better.
Plus Lindholm was so good at finishing plays with his shot from the right side. Lightning release with power and accuracy.

Plus, while LHS has a more centred angle from the right side and vice versa, shooting from the strong side gives a better angle at the short side, and the goalie has to travel farther to make the save.

If the Flames get that game tonight from Lucic on a consistent basis they've won the trade easily. Nothing fancy from him he just quietly went about his business and contributed in a positive manner. Had zero issues with his game tonight.

It should just be Lindholm Gio swapping sides at the point. Gio should be the lefty one timing the puck, not Gaudreau.
