So your comment about young hot heads growing out of it doesn't really apply to anyone of NHL age?

One thing for certain in our 5 years with Treliving at the draft is this is where he makes his moves just not all moves happen. I believe the Flames have either executed or been linked to massive blockbusters in every draft
2014 - Flames were rumored to take on the contract of Mike Ribero in order to get the Coyotes 2014 12th overall pick (Ribero reportedly refused to waive). They were also rumored to be in on Cam Ward which would have resulted in them acquiring the 7th overall pick. Neither deal occurred and all we got was 3rd for Bollig
2015- Hamilton Blockbuster broke early on the Friday
2016- tons of rumors the Flames were acquiring Ben Bishop with talk they were hammering out a contract to make the deal work. Also rumors of the Flames moving into the top 3 of the draft and also rumors they were trying to acquire a second top 10 pick. The result was sending 2 picks for Brian Elliott and rejoicing when Tkachuk fell to 6th
2017- Hamonic rumors started in the days leading up to the draft and Treliving pulled off the move on day 2
2018- Hamilton was being shipped and it was a day or 2 in advance when Lebrun discusses the Flames interest in Lindholm and that perhaps there was a blockbuster that included Lindholm, Hanifin and Hamilton. The big deal happened on day 2
2019- a little more quiet so far with less rumors leaking in the week leading up to the draft but it is still morning. Brodie, Hamonic, Frolik, Neal have all been mentioned as trade bait with salary cutting being the primary reason. We will see what happens

Well ya, the first one has three top 6 centers. Kadri would be great here, not sure why so many don't see it. Just what we are missing.

Kadri is a really good 2 way player. He also plays with the type of edge this team lacks
One has to decide if those benefits and filling those gaps on the team are worth taking on a guy that sometimes goes over the line
But finding guys that can toe that edge precisely and consistently is hard.

Well, if that's the case, the Flames will be in luck if they get Nazim because he's consistently a disappointing dip***t.
Then again.. one team's trash is another team's treasure.

I think it's what ends up happening when a player that is a good, but maybe not great, spends too long in one organization. The fan base starts to focus more on his warts than the good things he provides, and all of a sudden that player is no good.
I feel like Brodie is in the same situation in Calgary right now. Still a good player but after a while a portion of the fan base can only start to focus on the negatives.

Steinberg says there has been some nibbles on Brodie, but not a bidding war according to what he last heard yesterday

Guess you hold on to him until some of the supply disappears.
Could be after July 1 before we see a Brodie deal.

The team that gets Brodie for two 2nd round picks and lock him up long term is laughing. Flames are only moving on because both he and Hamonic are UFA's and the development of Valimaki, Andersson and Kylington. Yes he has his issues but he's still a legit top four guy.

Pinder talking about Brodie being pretty close to Justin Braun...
...not even close. TJ Brodie >> Justin Braun

No its not. Brodie is far from a detriment to the team and has still aided Gio in 2 of his best seasons he's had. If you are trying to win a cup right now, which the Flames are, you take a #2-4 defenseman over two 2nd round picks every time

A first, even if it’s late, needs to be apart of the Brodie deal.
Late first + a 2nd or late first + a prospect

Pinder doesn't like Brodie so I would take his opinion with a grain of salt.
