The Blues just got their asses handed to them, but they have character. All they need to do is rebound and earn another split. They win the next game then they're still in with a shout.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Can the NHL just give Boston the cup tonight and call it a season? I've never been so uninterested in a cup final before.
It seems like the league won't be happy until they finish with the lowest television ratings ever for a cup final. It's not really an intriguing final but what's hurt things more is all the time off before the start of the series and in between games. I'm not sure how they are deciding on this schedule but the party involved should probably be re-evaluated in the offseason much like the officiating ranks as this has been one of the most disastrous playoff years in a long time for this league.
I would have been way more into it, but there's just so much time off between games and series, I lose interest. There was so much promise for a fun finals but Boston was my one 'blah' team I was hoping would get knocked out.
Their fans are oversaturated with championships and it shows. Having Carolina or Columbus in the finals would have been nuts and been so fun.

Yeah, I never thought I’d ever say this but I’m much more interested in the NBA finals than the NHL finals this year. I just don’t care about the Bruins or Blues at all. Boston wins everything and St. Louis is kind of boring.

People keep saying this like it's some kinda shock...the first finals ever in our country with the "local" team knocking off the heavy favorite in game 1.
Not surprising versus a couple pretty meh NHL teams...not much of a rooting interest.
NBA finals has a terrible schedule too and a team in their fifth straight final.

NHL is mimic'ing the schedule the NBA does for it's finals. I think the networks prefer these long breaks since they try to set it up for nights they'll get the biggest TV draws for their games. At least for the NBA. NHL may be experimenting this year since I don't recall this is something they have done in past years?
What have been the ratings for the NHL Finals so far? Both Canadian and American?

NBA has been the lowest in 10 years, but the highest ever in Canada with 7.8mil watching game 1. I don't think the NBA counts Canada's numbers in their ratings, though or else it might be better.

You have a poor memory then.
This year's Finals schedule is pretty consistent with what we've seen for years in non-Olympic/Lockout seasons. In fact, this is the fourth straight year that the Final has had the exact same schedule:
Final Monday of May
Wednesday
Saturday
Monday
Thursday
Sunday
Wednesday
