It's a Calgary Flames tradition since 1990. This franchise is forever cursed.
2004 and 2015 were pretty fun though.

They get a powerplay in overtime and showed no desperation on it. The difference in the series continues to be the play between the top lines of each team. Mackinon leading his team to wins, while the Flames top line continues to do nothing. Down 2-1 in the series and have a powerplay opportunity to win and only threw a pillow at them, they should have been throwing everything and the kitchen sink at them.

What’s left to say that hasn’t been said. Weak team and a waste of a season. Wish they didn’t even make the playoffs to give false hopes!

Obviously you'd need to get very good return, but these guys are soft and will never win in the playoffs. No point in building your team around that.

Mackinnon/Rants >>>>>>>>> Mony/Johnny
It's not even close. How do they get so many regular season points?

Classic Mikael Backlund stinker. Takes a late dumb penalty that leads to the tying goal, has the goaltender down and out in OT and shoots into his pad, leaves his man alone for the game winner.

I know. When a player like that becomes available, you just have to find a way to make things happen. Valimaki might have a great future but the Flames best season was in the present. If not Stone, other pretty good players were available as well.

Peters is making the classic mistake of not limiting ice time to certain players because they are the "top" guys. He'd rather stick to the plan than win a hockey game.

Neal can just #### off.

It’s like he just floats around now. He used to have speed and skill . What happened , injuries or just lazy?

Really wanted to have faith in this core but our best players are not playoff performers. Monahan and Gaudreau won't be the guys to take this team to the promised land. Might as well get used to the idea that some other configuration is needed to get over the hump.

I know this is a hard fact to accept but Monahan, Matthew, Elias and Johnny have been so badly outplayed by the Avs top players, Flames should already be out. How does Peters deal with that? Where are those players’ pride?
Mike Smith, remarkably, has been easily the Flames player.

Pretty crushing defeat. Could be 3-1 for us with the right bounces but the Avs deserve the lead. If you were going to tell me Mike Smith was going to elevate his game to elite levels for the playoffs I would have predicted we could have won the cup.
Believe it or not I still think this team can come back and win the series. They played better tonight and I like their chances at home on Friday.

I want to see Bennett on the top line, who he replaces I don’t care. Also want to see Czarnik in and Neal out. What do we have to lose at this point. So disappointed.

Neal is beyond terrible. His play negatively impacted the game in a big way. He needs to sit next game and get Czarnik in. I don't care what, he's paid or what his "veteran presence" is!

Flames played a MUCH better game but let it slip away tonight... There were moments of real FLAMES hockey throughout this game and then they just regressed back into their scared selves. Why are we giving this Ave's team so much damn space in the defensive zone? We allow them to set up freely every single time.
The Flames have their backs against the wall now. Go out F***ing fighting!! I want to see some heart and intensity from this squad. Straight up. LETS GO!
- Neal OUT this dude is too slow. He is a liability
