Jankowski has been playing at a 0.5 pts/gp pace since Nov 1. He is the #6 scoring forward over the past 2.5 months.

Well, as bad as Smith has been for the Flames this season, at $5.9M, Varlamov looked almost as bad for the Avs tonight.

With about 6 minutes left there was a play that was the perfect Hanifin - Hamilton contrast.
On a flames line change the Avs had the puck and numbers. Hanifin looks over his shoulder at who is there and coming, hesitates just a second to keep the breakaway pass at bay, but keeps a decent gap and doesn’t just give up the zone and an easy scoring chance. The Avs player eventually just shot it into Hanifins skates. It was so poised.

We've seen this game before, except the Flames are the other team. Lots of shots, play great, and the Flames' goalie plays like complete junk and lets in a bunch of stinkers.
I'll take it.

Bennett was on an 18 point pace through his first 18 games iirc, and in his last 20 on line 2, is on pace for 37.

I did not think the Flames were good, but I also think only one of their goals scored on Varlamov was a "stinker."

Don’t think so. That fan did his job and then some tonight.

The first and third goals were not good. The second was iffy at best. He read the play properly but didn't come out nearly as much as he should have.
The Avs goaltending has been terrible of late.

Yes, hope so. And helps they will play the next two games on those teams’ 2nd end of back to backs.
They were the better team the last two games prior to tonight, but they deserved to lose this evening imo, and this place would have a much different tone and about 4 more pages by now.

Perhaps he was upset over the goalie not being pulled earlier
Bednar played it pretty conservatively

I get that Rielly and Brodie are tied for 3rd, meaning Lindholm is in 4th, but "we have three in the top four" is literally incorrect. Three of the top five is still pretty frickin awesome though!

That leaves Calgary potentially having Backlund, Frolik, Bennett, Hanifin, and Jankowski as .5 ppg players. In addition to five PPG players.....
