They didn’t get on the score sheet but I thought the Neal-Jankowski-Mangiapane line had a really good night, particularity Jankowski.

As someone born in the mid-90’s, I’ve never really seen the Flames be a good team before. Even in ‘04 they had to grind just to make the playoffs. I really hope they can keep this up, I like what I’m seeing so far.

That Agent Smith story works too well to not have a shred of truth behind it

Anyone with a link to this? Game center always cuts out right after the game ends.

Everyone in this thread needs to get off their respective high horses pretending they don't smell their own farts.

Elias Lindholm is a ####ing rocket. What a game. What a team.

Bob Stauffer @Bob_Stauffer
Right now the Calgary Flames are the best team in the West.
Deadly off the rush, and their young developing D can make plays too.
Deep team, that is brimming with confidence.
Even without Giordano and underrated Backlund, a major challenge tomorrow night for the Oilers in the BOA

Nah don’t believe any Oiler media member if it appears they’re pumping up the Flames. Ever.

He’s setting the ground work for raving how the Oilers can keep up with the best teams in the west, and therefore the world, if they keep it close tomorrow night (2nd half of a Flames back to back no less).

At the game and here are a few of my thoughts:
- Kylington is an amazing skater. Had a few down shifts in the second where he wasn’t as noticeable but found myself in awe period 1 and 3. Hopefully his confidence sticks and this is what we keep seeing
- The D as a whole played really well, really liked what andersson brought. Even Prout was steady enough
- Smith is so damn scary when he leaves the net but still makes it works. So much more noticeable seeing it live
- Forwards did a great job supporting the D
- The top line looks to get at least one or two dangerous chances every shift which is so satisfying
- I honestly felt like for a team that’s doing better on face offs this year it felt like we didn’t win any so something to work on

Was a really entertaining game even with the tight checking

Just listening to Pat Steinberg on the Fan960 for the call in show for the first time...

Is he always like this? What a jerk.

He didn't used to be. Unfortunately that show has a way of destroying the host's will to live. Same thing happened to Kerr back in the day. I mean, have you heard some of the assclowns who call into that show?

He needs to think critically when people call in. It makes for better radio. It also makes it easier to distinguish callers who are genuinely good from the ones that hardly follow the team.

Back from the game--a few thoughts:

-Kind of a wobbly game at times, in the sense that the puck seemed to be skittering around and bouncing off of both teams' sticks. A weird rhythm, overall...at least until the third...

-Nashville plays a heavy game. It was clear that they could lean on us pretty well. But the Flames deserve massive credit for fighting through the physical stuff and for using their speed effectively, especially on defence.

-I love that the Flames (Peters) make adjustments in-game. Nashville was playing kind of a 1-3-1 trap in the neutral zone. Flames made a bunch of adjustments to break through it effectively, including just having the D-Men make long slapshot passes to the opposition blue-line for deflections into the zone. Just awesome to see-like, we don't have to keep trying the same one strategy.

-Andersson's pass to Quine for his goal was unreal. We have so many players who are not only skilled but intelligent as well.

-Going to Flames games the past two seasons became a huge chore for me. I felt like I wasted every night I spent going to games. I told my Dad (with whom I attend games) that I wanted to reduce our share in the seats we're in on because it was so painful sitting through boring hockey, usually resulting in losses. Tonight, however, went a long way in restoring my enjoyment watching this team and just being in the Dome.

Oh, and uh, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this...

(Spoiler for size)

Spoiler!

The people who I’ve listened to call in should borderline be in a hospital I agree and yeah that would be tricky but pretty sure that’s the job.

Never a great reason to be a dick to people. Anyway old Sylvia has called in and it’s fairly bizarre what’s happening right now.
