He scored 18 points on the powerplay with Daniel and Henrik on the ice. 23 PP points total.
And, not to take away from their illustrious careers, in terms of "first-line" talent last year, they were scrubs. 50 points doesn't cut it. And really he played with Gagner about as much as those guys. Horvat is fine, Baertschi is a passenger, Vanek is Vanek. These were some pretty terrible linemates to prop him up to that ~40 goal pace.
You also look at the defense and compare it to a team like Giordano, Brodie, Hanifin and there's pretty much Edler for the Canucks and even he doesn't create many chances.
But yes, I think we all agree that Tkachuk has overtaken him at this point.
