He's a really good overall player. Does everything well and hopefully he can break out playing with a great passer like Gaudreau and finisher like Monahan. Complements them well and winning all those face-offs makes for good possession chances for the first line.
The Friedman thing about the flames worried that trading bennett is another St. Louis / savage situation and instead just burying him is absolutely criminal.
Also being at the game tonight, idiots on CP who think bennett sucks are the vocal minority of flames fans as bennett gets more cheers and appreciation than a lot of other guys.
People here just get one thing in their minds and can’t shake it...
You guys actually need to give your heads a shake if you legit think Czarnik, Ryan, Dube, Frolik, janko, or Neal actually give us a better chance of winning than bennett

Fun game, great comeback win. But a few things that are still a little concerning that I’ll be paying close attention to:
1) Goaltending. Very concerning as I don’t think we’ve seen a good performance from any goaltender yet. Someone needs to step up and give this team some confidence going forward or we’re going no where again this season.
2) Secondary scoring. Only 2 games in, but 6 of the 7 goals that we’ve scored (minus ENG) have been once again generated by the first line. Really hoping this doesn’t become another reoccurring theme as all the moves Treliving made was made to address this issue.
Johnny Gaudreau is always worth the price of admission. That guy is easily one of the most talented players in the league.
I also love when Tkachuk burns the Canucks. That was a very quiet 4 points. I loved when he got into it with Markstrom.
I was at the game so I didn’t suffer as bad as some of you did, but I agree that these broadcasts need to do away with constantly filming the parents. Show them once in their kids first game then never again. But even then nobody cares. I saw a clip of Petterson’s dad after he scored and he looked like he was chirping a Flames fan pretty good. Looked like a tool. Glad I didn’t have to listen or see that all night.
Smith was giving me heart attacks all night. I really hope he can find his game soon. Made the big glove save which was timely but his play earlier put him in the position where that was necessary.
Lindholm looks great on the first line. I’m really starting to come around to him.
The no goal call was actually BS. I had previously thought it was the right call because Ryan pushed Markstrom's pads into the net... but it was actually Edler's stick!
Ryan comes in with his black taped blade, but Edler's white taped blade is the one pushing Markstrom

Blueline reverted to form. Not just bad, but laughably bad. And Del Zotto might be the worst of the worst. It's impossible for me to believe that Oli Juolevi could possibly be any worse. And time to break up that Horvat-Boeser-Baertschi line. Thank God the Canucks aren't relying on them to be a number one line.
Canucks can't really win consistently with the d-men they have, but who cares?. Pettersson is worth the price of admission in whatever barn he plays in. He'll salvage the season, no matter how it turns out.

- Pettersson is ridiculous. That line (and whatever line he's on) is now this team's top line. Oozing confidence and making his teammates better.
- Goldobin is riding Pettersson but still looks very good himself. One of his best games as a Canuck aside from the late penalty. Doesn't look scared of being benched if he makes a risky play.
- Eriksson is quietly doing heavy lifting defensively for his two young linemates. No complaints on his play so far.
- Boeser and Horvat were marginally better than the first game but still crap. Baertschi was every bit as crap as the first game. That line is awful right now. And even worse defensively than offensively.
- Sutter line was ok. Sutter and Virtanen did pretty well, Motte not nearly as noticeable as the first game.
- Beagle line kinda got buried and the Granlund-Beagle PK tandem struggled.
- defense just a hot mess. Tanev and Edler were competing but getting swamped. Del Zotto just atrocious. Gudbranson an icing machine. Stecher seemed weirdly benched - thought he was hurt but he was out on the last shift. Pouliot ... actually wasn't bad.
- Markstrom allowed 5 goals but was the 2nd best Canuck. Faced point-blank chance after point-blank chance. One goal was squiggly but the other 4 he really had no chance.
Everyone knew this defense would be terrible when we brought the same group back and that's quickly coming to fruition. Thank God for Pettersson because otherwise this team would be so, so painful to watch.
Edit : also I don't want Pettersson to gain another ounce. He should play his whole career at this weight.

Big shout out to th posters who quoted the spoilers for those of us who didn't see it the first time.

I wasn't trying to be a troll and intentionally spoil it. Like I said I got caught in the moment and figured that anyone who cared would already know the result whether they watched it while watching the game like I was or not.
I made a mistake like we all do sometimes and next time I'll know to leave out non-hockey results for anyone who may not want to know until later.
