Dougie didn't deserve any call on that play imo. Gio on the other hand deserved 4 minutes. So those saying it should have been 5 on 3 are wrong imo. The whole sequence from the refs was a giant cluster fug. Pretty much par for the whole first period if you ask me.

What do you mean? He got him right in the helmet with his stick, that's high sticking. There's no discretion on high sticking calls, either the ref sees stick to face/helmet and it's a penalty or he misses it.

Lomberg vs Haley to set the tone of the game, though I don’t blame lomberg if he didn’t want to take that fight. Hopefully the flames can pull off the big two points. I am going to say 3-1 with Lazar, Backlund and Hamilton (pp goal) scoring tonight. Go flames Go!!

Dougie got his stick up high twice on that play. No problem with the call.
Really, kudos to the Canuck that didn't snap his head back like he'd been kicked by a horse. Takes guts to go against the Team Manual.
