Wasn't Parenteau claimed on waivers by NJ? Were the Devils ahead of the Flames on the waiver-claim list?

He was on waivers during the period where last year's standings were used, so we would have been 5th in the order whereas NJ was 11th.

The Flames didn't have the cap space to pick him up off waivers.

Smid to LTIR would have made enough space to do it.

The Bruins have seven players with +10 goals, rank #14 in scoring, and have not scored fewer than 3 goals in a game for a full month. I don't think they are all that desperate.

I have an irrational dislike for PA Parenteau

I cannot explain it.

How do we feel about Vrbata for Wideman? At least Vrbata can play in our line-up.

Why in the world would Arizona do that?

That deal would never happen. If it did I would be all for making Chayka look like an idiot but no one is that stupid.

It would help their draft position with all the extra penalties they would be taking

Lol, but there's really no room for Arizona to move. They have second last place on lockdown. It would take nothing short of a miracle for the Avs to pass them and it's almost as unlikely someone tanks below them.

God, please don't give up anything worth having. Vrbata is all smoke and mirrors when he's not playing in a Coyotes jersey.

If Scorpion likes him it's usually a very bad sign.

If Flames are in on Vrbata, asking price yesterday was a 2nd round pick. Has marketplace changed?

I think the market has changed. It will be interesting if the young GM takes a low ball offer just to get an asset.
