People here actually defending Burrows?? What the hell. He made fun of how a man was abused by his father, that's all you need to know. He's a piece of #### and plays the game like a scum bag. It's fine if you like him because he was on your team but just acknowledge that he's still a ####ty person. You can like a player but still agree that he is not a good person. Burrows has rightfully gained his awful reputation.

So which areas are off limits in the NHL, Shane O'Brien had a long history with the Canucks of drinking and partying. There has been nothing about O'Brien having a drinking problem other than him enjoying the Roxy a bit too much. There is a long history of Burrows being an #######, there isn't much need to fabricate situations to fit your narrative.

Is anyone really surprised that a fan base widely considered to be the worst in the North American sports scene doesn't have a problem with their thrashy player? I had forgotten just how much of a coward Bieksa was in that whole ordeal. Weren't they calling him a hero in Vancouver for taking that faceoff, refusing to fight one of the bigger guys, them letting Westgarth go so he could go pound on a rookie?

I'm actually not surprised by the two Canuck fans defending him in the last couple pages. For whatever reason, there seems to be a sizeable number of them who wear blinders to how disgusting his behaviour has been over the years.
What I don't get - beyond the grossly offensive things he's done and said - is that he's really the poster boy for that horrific style of play Vancouver administered through the late 00's early 20-teens. The diving, cowering / trying to draw penalties / not answering the bell.
For me, that would be enough to denounce the guy were he on my team alone. But then he goes miles further and mocks abuse / addiction etc.
It's really bewildering the excuses some fans there put forth to stick up for the guy.
Alexander Burrows is the without a doubt one of the biggest pieces of thrash to ever put on a uniform in the NHL and the multiple instances people are posting here more than enough to demonstrate it. This guy wouldn't have lasted a week in the NHL in the 90s. Damn lucky he came up in an era where no one has to answer for their actions. An outright coward with zero respect around the league, and there's always been rumblings he had zero respect in the Canucks locker room. Not sure where this Community ambassador and respect of his teammates is coming from.
