Not to mention the age in which most players get drafted in their respective leagues are incredibly different, from 18yo to 20+ for NBA/NFL who have a much clearer picture of what the player is expected to be.

Bennett's first instinct when he gains the line with the puck is still to try to beat the defenseman one-on-one and get a shot on net. He has to learn that this isn't junior any more, and in the NHL that kind of play doesn't work 90 per cent of the time. He has to start looking at the whole ice and using his teammates.
