Terrible Dome ice robs Bouma of a goal.

That would be great if Elliott could finish this game as one of those kinds of games in which the Flames don't surrender any goals.

Yup, he did. Backs from Gio and Chucky.

I think it's a testament to patience on a kid in which you trust the skills you drafted him for. Not every first rounder is an impact player within 3-4 years after being drafted.

Flames have allowed backlund to really round into form and are enjoying the fruits of the development process now. Yum.

His rebound control is not good, he's letting things go in the slot and near him a fair bit.

edit: accidental old quote added in front...

Scorpion's post was about Wideman, not Elliott. And every goalie has rebounds. Elliott has been quite solid tonight.

Don't know why you quoted me, I was talking about Wideman

He arrived a lot earlier than this season but some people can't analyze games without looking at point totals. There's a reason he's still a Flame and has been his entire career despite not getting much points.

He plays the game the right way and about 6 different coaches didn't bench him because they saw he was contributing every night.

Backlund has been a heck of a player for years now.

Backs is clearly the Flames MVP this year. No doubt our record would be pretty awful without his contributions this season.

Noticed that Elliott isn't wearing his regular red pads tonight. Little bit of that goalie superstition?

I guess I had the + button clicked still on this page. I used that quote earlier tonight. Thanks guys.

edit: But in regards to the actual conversation- I sat like 80 feet from him on NYE and he looked shaky then too. Lots of rebounds and awkward saves.

He ditched those probably 20 games ago.

Am i alone in thinking Francis gets more hate on these forums than he deserves? I find more times than not i agree with what he has to say.

I'm not digging the new Sportsnet intermission. Millions is a sub par host, Glenncross seems like a nice guy but sounds super awkward, and Francis is Francis, he should be no where near a mic. I miss Leah Hextall.
