Nope, not even close.

To be fair, Tkachuk is a name from Cyrillic-spelling country and is not quite Latinic-friendly. For what it was, Tkachuk is also wrong, because to convey the original pronunciation it should have been Tkachook.

Send him down; I have a feeling this year's team is another lottery team. I know its early but 40 goals against in 11 games (second to last in the nhl) isn't reassuring. The Canucks, who've played one less game and have lost 6 in a row are tied with the Flames in points.

Let him play in London, dominate, and keep his confidence.

I'll be glad to be proven wrong at seasons end.

Whether he goes up or down, isn't based on the teams current trajectory. He has more to learn playing in the NHL. He has proven to be capable. The big question of whether you send him down is based on the future contracts that will have to be signed.

I think the financial management of new and expiring contracts is the bigger issue with this decision.

Is this why Doug MacLean insists on calling him "Ta-chook"? Maybe he's right, but it sounds ridiculous when he is the only one doing so.

I remember an on-air guy used to call Keith "Ka-chook" back in the day, but I can't remember who it was. It would have had to have been someone in the west, since I rarely watched eastern games.

MacLean is ridiculous most of the time, I find.

Based on the morning skate, it looks like Tkachuk will play his 10th vs San Jose tonight.

Great news. He has looked great with Backlund/Frolik and will learn a hell of a lot from those two. More than he would in juniors, playing with teenagers.

Well, I'm pretty happy they didn't make the "smart" decision and instead decided to keep him up.

Fantastic game.
