Wild guess. Because it's preseason they're not using gamecenter, so they have to rely on their own video stream system, which isn't designed to handle the same load. Therefore they decided to limit it to only Alberta.
No idea why they don't just stream via youtube like they did for the young stars. That worked just fine.

The off season must have had a lot of "retired" senior staff, so Sportsnet must have hired some rookies for the pre-season too.This is terribad.

This has nothing to do with Sportsnet, this is in house. Probably a lot of overlap there, and might just be a chance in name only but this is all on the Flames for screwing up both feeds.
