The reason some members have taken issue with this, is your past comments. This isn't the first time this discussion has been had here.

There was a GDT started by you in the 2014-15 season. You didn't have time to do your usual long writeup, so you only posted the GDT and suggested others to update it. You did this at 5:30 am! Shortly after, Bingo added a poll. This was your response to the poll being added:

It's irrational, but I treat the GDTs like my personal belonging, so I get protective if people mess with them. It's stupid, but there ya go.

Although you admit it's irrational, you basically imply that the GDTs are yours. Your are flat out saying they are yours to control.

We all understand how much work the long GDTs take. Many CP members have stated they do appreciate them. What people don't like, is being told they appreciate them. When you got called out in this thread for the same thing, you replied with this:

It's a passive aggressive way to get thanks. It's another example of you wanting recognition for your work. Whether it's here, or not on the internet, people don't want to continue to praise people that continue to ask for it. If you enjoy making the GDTs, keep doing them. If you are doing them for thanks, just be honest about it. I've done a few GDTs, including the current one, and I really enjoy doing them. I can see why others, like yourself, would also enjoy posting them. I just don't think the reason to make them should be for thanks whoring.

I am against a schedule because there are likely some people that would want to do one, but too timid to speak up, or don't want the pressure. But maybe, they see it's 8:00 am and there isn't one going. They get it going. Maybe you add your long write up to it as well. It doesn't matter where your information is in the thread. It doesn't matter to me who scores the game winning goal, as long as the Flames win.

Well done detective Squiggs, you found some posts from over 2 years ago that reflected my attitude at the time. I can only tell you how I feel about it now and tell you that's the honest truth. Believe me or don't, makes no difference to me. I'll still sleep well at night.

What would you have me do now? It feels like a bit of a witch hunt at this point to publicly shame me for having such audacity. Is any of this really necessary? I let a lot of other crap from certain posters just slide because it's not worth the arguing and animosity, and I'd rather keep things friendly around here and not distract from real discussions.

And don't call me a "thanks whore". I'll admit, it's nice when a lot of people thank a post, but that's not why I do it, nor has it ever been the reason. There are a lot worse examples of people being thanks whores around here, and I guarantee it has nothing to do with posting actual content, but rather pointing out the flaws in others. You tell me, what's worse?

I really don't have anything else to say about this and I really think it's best if we all just move on.

I know I've been riding Cali's dick for like my past 5 posts but this is ridiculous. God forbid a guy get recognition or appreciation for something they've worked on. You do realize most people get paid, money even, for the work they do.

Once again, even if Cali was just doing it for the thanks, does that change anything? Seems like all the "haters" are "jelly" that Cali is getting more thanks than them? Lil hypocritical no? Maybe post something that is objectively good? Or just don't give a #### about whether your posts or anyone else's are thanked or not... (my personal strategy)
