So I'm with Fido, And I've been very happy with them for the last year so since I switched over.
Now my base plan is pretty much identical to what their website is offered (they're offering $39 / 60GB. I'm technically at $39/50GB but a few months ago they sent me a random text offering an additional 20GB/mo for the next two years with no catch so it's actually $39 / 70 GB.
On top of the 70GB, they have this really sweet option of "five hours of unlimited data use per month". You basically go into your fido app, toggle it on, and a ticker starts. For the next hour, you could download whatever you want over data and it won't apply against your data limit. I've used it a occasionally at airports to load up offline streaming content on my phone, and I really like it because there's zero data usage anxiety over that hour. I also used it on a few road trips. But I'm sure even if I didn't use it, I probably would not be hitting 70GB of data.
Now that's not the only reason I'm happy with it...
If anyone wants a great no-fee cash back credit card, I highly recommend the Rogers Bank World Elite:
https://www.rogersbank.com/en/rogers...rcard_details/
Now this is a 2% Cash Back on anything (3% cash back on USD purchases, which I offsets forex fees a little) card, so I already consider it fantastic compared to every other no-fee cash back CC out there. This isn't a hard cash back (no cheque in the mail) but it's super easy to redeem - you just go into your rogers bank app, pick a transaction from the last month or so, and apply the cash back redemption on that transaction. HOWEVER if you use the cash back towards Rogers, Shaw or Fido bills (Phone, Cable, Internet, or purchases made on their website such as new phones), it becomes 1.5X cash back (so 3% cash back, or if you made USD purchases, 4.5% cash back).
Now combine that with Fido's $39 / 60GB plan and for every ~$1300 spent on the card you basically get your phone bill free.
But additionally Fido has a $5 month over five months referral discount - for both the referrer and referree. You can use this up to five times per calendar year for a total of $125 off. I've used it once so far this year, and I can give four people a referral that'll give us both $5 off per month for the next five months if you want (and it should reset in January so we can give it to five more people, not to get too deep into minmaxing a referral scheme). Send me a PM if you're interested. Just wait until black friday assuming they've got a better rate offered.
Since I've had to spend a bit of money on my personal CC for work expenses and I was travelling a fair bit recently, and typically the 2% cash back is a better reward than any of my other CCs, I've actually over-used my Rogers World Elite CC to the point where I almost need to get internet with rogers because my cash back rewards would cover my phone bill for the next ~7 months alone if I didn't even spend any money on that CC. I could use it against other transactions though, and still come out ahead.
EDIT: Update I was a little thrown off after writing this post that my monthly payment was $39 because I had remembered it being less a few months ago even without factoring in the referral discount. Apparently Fido increased their base rate by $5 after Oct 9 (and it turns out it was stated on the previous bill). I just gave their customer retention a call and she's implementing a $5 loyalty discount for the next 16 months. If you're on Fido already and your bill went up as well, give them a call.

I used it in USA this month and it worked very well for me! I only had to roam for one day because of some stupid two step authentication for lyft that required me to use my real number. Of course, as noted above, I'm just going to use the Rogers cashback to pay off the additional $12 roaming charge. But the Saily option worked great. I did the 5GB I believe, which for my trip (four days stay plus two travel days spent in the states) turned out perfectly.
