Can we get a moment of appreciation for Hunter Smith's beard - that thing looks epic already.

Gelinas was sitting behind me.....I tried to catch some of his thoughts but I then realized I dont understand French. Also Burke up in the tiny community room with the most intense stares I have ever seen. Loved the intensity the Group 1 and 2 practiced with.

Tkachuk was okay. Lots of skill, but very raw. It was the same thing with Bennett his first camp here.
The two best players from the second group were Tuulola and Fox. Kylington was quick as usual as well. Doesn't look like he's added much weight. Got to run post more after.

My friend stayed for the second part today, here is what he saw. Would also like to clarify about his comments regarding MacDonald being a bust. It may have come off as harsh and a little quick but he hasn't been a fan of what he has seen at this viewing as well as be WJC. Enjoy!
Tkachuk is the real deal. soft hands great shot impressive net front presence/ability to tip shots. TON of skill but you can tell he is young
Lindstrom soft hands, nice sauce passes, sniped a number of goals, will be interested in following his development
Mattson big guy good skater good shot similar camp to Lindstrom. Maybe less skill but uses his body well
Kravchenko is a nice surprise. Similar camp with Burke and Dube. Smaller but lots of skill. Really liked watching him!
Rempal showed some nice flashes of speed and skill
Tuulola looks raw out there. Size, strength, heavy shot. Don't know if he is the smartest player though
Kylington is a great skater, seems to float and be able to make decisions on the fly. Looks kinda small and a few times got pushed around
Fox looks a step behind and small. He is going to benefit from a couple years of development
Morrison seems steady. Probably most NHL ready dman out there. Knows how to anticipate a forecheck and use his body well. Scored a nice goal
I like Schneider. Thought he covered the net well and looked more like an athletic goalie tracking the puck
Parsons seems small and hard quiet a few get passed him. I don't know goalies though haha

Hopefully Kylington spends the rest of Summer training back home with Oduya. I recall he posted about gaining 10~ lbs midway through the season, but it's possible he lost it through the grind of the remaining games. Sounds and looks like it's the only thing holding him back now.
Interested to see how Morrison does in main camp. Was hot garbage for most of last season but it finally clicked for him towards the end.

Fox was the most determined of any of the players in the second group. Used his strength effectively against bigger opponents and was very smart most of the time. Raw, but in that same class as Hickey/Andersson/Kylington overall. Will likely need 3 years in NCAA + 1-2 in the AHL.
Tuulola is a big bodied bruiser who bulldozes his way through to where he needs to go. Think of a faster David Wolf type, although not as built like a freezer as Wolf. Probably not going to develop into a top 6 forward, but could grow into being a feisty 3rd/4th line guy depending on how his offense develops.
Morrison looked better than last year. Needs to have a consistent good season though to recover and earn another contract.
Mattson and Lindstrom, both decent, both very very raw. Call back in 3-4 years.
Schneider looked alright, as did Parsons. Not bad, not great. Just there. You can tell that those two are the youngest goalies of the 5.
Tkachuk - Basically the same as Bennett at the same point in their careers. If it was based off today, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets his 9 games and gets sent back, or sent back right off.
None of the second group walk ons stood out as being noteworthy outside of a couple of decent shots by a couple players. Doubt any contracts will be offered to any of them.

Treliving says he would be shocked if Mangiapane and Andersson aren't playing pro hockey next season, but there is still an option to send them back to junior.
Pribyl should be ready for training camp barring any setbacks.
