I assume that Randorf comment was meant to be in green.

Randorff Calls a decent game. He's not better than Hughson, Cole, or Ball, but he's several orders of magnitude better than Paul Romanuk.

The level of homerism in the feeds I've watched so far has been incredible. It's been so bad that I've flipped to the other channel (also US) to see what the opposing PBP team is saying about certain contentious plays. And of course, they say the exact opposite.
"That's a penalty all day every day" vs. "the refs really dropped the ball on that call".

Could not disagree more. The American broadcasts are always better than sports net.

Its the way local broadcasts are.
Even the Sportsnet/TSN local broadcasts are homer's.

Put me in the sparse camp that Kypreos, Friedman and Hrudey make for a great panel. Love what all three of them bring and think it's great conversation. Put me also in the sparser camp that Kypreos is not the least good of the three. Hrudey is. Kypreos has great takes and balances Friedman perfectly.
(we'll just ignore Strombo)

Those 3 are almost the only good sportsnet has left.

I dunno. Many US broadcasts are ridiculously homerish.
But who really cares about play by play... the difference in video quality in an American broadcast (compared to Sportsnet) is staggering, and should be embarrassing to SN

There we go, Randorf is calling a game. He is better than Romanuk, but, Ball is much better.

Yeah on Centre Ice I get the TSN broadcasts when we play the Jets or the Senators. It's pretty homerish and not up to the quality of Ball and Hrudey but the sound quality is better. It says on my receiver that it's DD 5.1 but RSN doesn't sound like it because the surround speakers are just repeating the other speakers.

Never enjoyed Canadian broadcasts outside of Bob Cole and Peter Maher. Cuthbert was good. Definitely prefer the Fox Sports level of broadcasting over Sportsnet.
I noticed that they still have endless Panago and Telus animal ads on during Flames games.. good lord.

I don't mind homerism at all as long as they know their stuff and give credit to the opposition when it's due.

For me, it's all the 5th season be that Scotiabank, Molson and Tim Horton's rams down my throat. Hockey is fun, but it is not life like they think it is.

That's kind of the goal. It's better to just laugh about how obsessed he is with what he claims is clearly an inferior place and move on.

Especially considering the Coyotes broadcast may be one of the very worst in the entire league.

From past stories it seems he was a privileged kid that grew up in West Hills, so to him the US may seem like a better country. The US is great for wealthy white people. They just hole them all up in their own communities with great entertainment and restaurants and **** everything else that happens in the country.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention to the poster that closely, but I agree with his assessment of most Canadian broadcasts and that's not an "Everything Canada Sucks" attitude. He gave credit to Cole, Maher and Cuthbert and I would do the same. It's a shame Cuthbert does football and other sports instead of being one of the headline guys for hockey.
