My sister lives in California, and was able to get her to buy me five tickets at noon. Wish me luck!

My fortune cookie told me that all my dreams would come true today. Since I have a ticket for the 649 but not the powerball, I will dream that I win the 649 and that CP wins the powerball.
Good luck!

Well I'm no lawyer, but posting about your intent to defraud someone beforehand probably wont help your case.

People spending hundreds of tickets and driving across the border to buy them.
What is funny is that people don't think buying a ticket to win $20m is worth it, but because an enormous jackpot comes along, suddenly it is worth it.
In my view, and I know it is only my opinion, I'd rather win a normal lottery jackpot than something like this where the publicity is going to be so insane you actually risk wrecking your whole life if you can't handle it and the unwanted attention and danger that could potentially accompany it all.
This is South Park style lunacy.

I never understand this, outside of taking a bunch of pictures when you claim the prize, you go back home and can ignore the media, not like this is going to be an ongoing weeks long story for them to cover. Also I have zero problem telling my 3rd cousin twice removed to take a flying leap if they come out the the woodwork, is it that hard for people?

Yeah, we need some kind of brain scientist in here to explain this to me. Because I'm baffled. And a little frightened.

I can't speak for everyone who bought in but I buy tickets regularly with some friends or co-workers. So it isn't a bigger draw for me to buy these tickets just an additional fun lotto or a story to tell. I never understood that mentality either, hear it all the time "lottomax is $50M, better buy a ticket". I buy when its $5M too as that would be enough for me to retire

I only get Lottomax when it hits 50 + at least 10 maxmillions, becuase I want chances, not big $. Otherwise I'll just get Western Max becuase tickets are cheaper(smaller jackpot). Even then though it's only once or twice a month.

My superintendant gave me a single $3 ticket.
I'll be crunching the numbers to split it with him tomorrow.
Honestly, I'm with those who say they'd be just as happy with far less. I'd donate 99% to charity, or invest the 99%, with the proceeds of those investments going to charity.

Personally I think a great business idea for powerball players is to provide a service where you can disappear a person for as long as they want.
I've read some horiffying stories about how destructive winning the lotto can be to a person and their relationships with other people.
Of course the first thing that seems to happen when you win is that your family members jump on the phone with cries for money, or with "investment ideas".
Then every con man with a link to google, tries to sucker you.
You suddenly have wealth and start spending it like crazy, and then wake up the next morning and its gone.
Personally, for 10% of your winnings, disguise your face expertly during the winners press conference.
On the same day that you pick up the check, provide you with a new identity and get you out of the country. Arrange transportation for a select few on the trusted list, don't tell me to bring your spuse, I advise against it..
Give you a 3 day finance course for the newly wealthy and the pitfalls that winners always seem to hit.
Provide you with a legal advisor to act in your place and tell everyone that needs a loan who has a great investment idea or a dream to piss off so you don't have to be the bad guy.
Move you to a temporary home in the country of your choice, make sure that you have security to pound on the Paparazzi.

Honestly the concept of winning the whole jackpot scares me for this very reason. Even at that obscene amount of money, it would be hard to determine how and how much to distribute. Someone is going to hate you, so basically you just have to pick who they will be.
Honestly the simplest would be to just win one of the $50k prizes lol.
