Laura Jane Grace was on Seth Meyers last night and sat down for a fairly lengthy interview. The other members of Against Me! were also there (Atom Willard was actually the guest drummer for the 8G Band this week) and they performed 333 at the end of the show.
If you want to see more of the interview and the performance of 333, you can find it at this link:
The Weeknds new album is out on the 25th. Party Monster and I Feel it Coming feat Daft Punk again were released yesterday, all 4 tracks released so far are amazing
Marnie Stern (Seth's usual guitarist) is on maternity leave. I think I saw Mary Timony filling in for her this week?
Mary Timony has been filling in for Marnie for a couple of weeks now. She also filled in for Seth Jabour once too. Sometimes Eleanor Friedberger will fill in but I haven't seen her for awhile. It's a supergroup every night.

[Friends in the art scene, particularly the music community: A sincere thank you for allowing me the privilege of helping to tell your stories and share your gifts for the past 25 years. You have been an endless source of awe and inspiration. My final day at the Calgary Herald is this Friday. What's next? Don't know. Hope it's as gratifying as this has been. Cheers] - Facebook

I remember reading his album and show reviews in The Gauntlet in the 90s! So he's been chronicling the Calgary music scene for a long time. I hope he lands on his feet.
That sucks. I wish him luck getting a new gig. I've been a big fan of his for a long time. I've been happy listening to him on CJSW again lately as well.
Speaking of CJSW, Keven Woron did his last show on Megawatt Mayhem this weekend after 30 years on the air. Another Calgary music institution gone. I wish him well too.

Kevin's last show - "a celebration". 30 years of favorites. LOL - Slik Toxik. Stories of Live Wire.
I don't know where else to put this but there's a great series on PBS called Soundbreaking. Tonight's episode was about the birth of MTV and the music video, the episode tomorrow is about music formats, and there's another episode in a few days about sampling and it's affect on the music industry, especially hip hop.
Highly recommended. All three episodes appear to be playing multiple times in the next four days.
That sucks. I always knew if I was driving around late on a Saturday that I could switch to CJSW and hear some metal. Is he going to do anything like podcasts going forward?
