Sucks to have paid top dollar for this game at MSG and didn't even see a goal go in

Tampa have tanked in years they had no business tanking...lucky for them nobody in Tampa really noticed or cared...benefit to playing in a place where hockey is not #1 I guess you can just sweep those seasons under the rug

That's the Bolts top 4 scoring forwards this season. Plus they have:

Killorn 24, Drouin 19, Paquette 21 and Namestnikov 21

Their top two Dmen?

Hedman is 23
Stralman is 28

Sustr is 24, Garrison is 29, Carle is 29, Coburn is 29, Barberio is 24 plus they have DeAngelo and Koekkoek in the system.

Their goalies?

Bishop is 27 and Vasilevskiy is 20

Crap, their oldest player is Filpula who is 30 years old. (Not counting Morrow, who is a depth player)

All that and they are on their way to the Cup finals.

Might be the first of quite a few in the next handful of years.
Very good but Steve had nothing to do with some of those guys...still he has done well

Stamkos, Hedman, Killorn and Barberio are pretty much the only players on the entire Lightning roster that were acquired (all drafted by the Bolts) before Yzerman became the GM.

He took two young franchise players and built a Stanley Cup contender around them in basically four seasons.

It could be what the Flames are doing. Hope so.

Tampa played like they wanted it tonight. Should be interesting to see who they play as of tomorrow night.

Correct: that entire team is virtually Yzerman's, which is why i certainly think he ought to win the GM award this year.

In my opinion, out of the final teams, Tampa is the lesser of four evils.

Nice to see that little rat St. Louis submarined by the team he burned.

All this mentioning of Tampa going back to the Cup Finals since '04....it still stings a little
As much as I like some of their players, I still can't cheer for their logo

I really don't have much/any ill feeling towards tampa. I hate St. Louis, I hate Dave Andreychuk, I hate Lecavalier, I hate Tortorella, but i don't seem to hate tampa. Something about Stamkos and Yzerman makes them likeable. I hope that franchise gets their first cup this year.

I like the Bolts it's a fun team to watch, and also have no ill will against them, as none of the 04 players are around.

I hope they get to play the Ducks, and beat them in 6 or less, can't stand Getzlaf

Damn right about it stinging and burning. It's like old wounds being ripped open again. The hard part about accepting the Bhawks to win is that Brad Richards will win and that hurts just as bad.

The anger will never go away. We'll all have to see those turn back the clock moments when the Lightning won the cup 11 years ago. Some of those players will be in the stands for the Tampa home games and they'll be interviewed. Don't want to hear or see Fedotenko, Andreychuk, and Sydor. Flames fans had the heartbreak happen again when the no goal call happened against the Flames playing the Ducks 3 weeks ago. And now to see Tampa in the finals is throwing salt on those freshly open wounds as we'll have to see Gelinas goal several times again. There should be a ban (censorship) on any reference to 2004 final. It was tainted.
