Back home now, watching the PVR...Hughson with more energetic calls on the Flames goals than he had all series...a very good call on the Stajan winner too.

For round 2:
Cole won't travel out here and ANA.

Give it to Ball! Chances are though the Flames will be a CBC focus now, second only to MTL, so I suspect Randorf.

So will we get Romanuk/Johnson or Randorf/Galley? Probably the former.

Nope. Like years past the guys that started out east will most likely remain out east.

We will most likely get Hughson and Simpson again. Romanuk/ Johnson will stay out east.

Hughson and Simpson have seniority over Randorf and Galley so I suspect we will be stuck with them for the whole journey. I thought they were MUCH better tonight. They are excellent commentators when not calling a Canucks game.

Since I dont think Ball and Hrudey are options because they work for sportsnet not Cbc ( yes there is a difference).

I really wish CBC didn't lay off Mark Lee. I liked mark lee when ever Ball didn't call a game out west in years past

Hughson and Simpson are the number one pairing for HNIC/Sportsnet. I have a hard time seeing them staying with a Ducks and Flames series that will have games start at 1030pm EST. Hughson will be with the Habs if MTL goes thru IMO, even if Ottawa goes thru. They don't get to choose where they go. Producers and executives at Rogers make those calls.

I think we are stuck with Hughson and Simpson in the 2nd round. Rick Ball is doing the Eastern team.

Gotta believe Baller is done. He's 5th on the national depth chart and there are only 4 series in the second round.

My prediction:

ANA v CGY-Romanuk/Johnson
CHI v Stl or Min-Randorf/Galley

MTL or OTT v DET or Tbay-Hughson/Simpson
NYR v NYI or WASH-Cole/Millen

2 cents.

I thought Hughson was great all series and we were lucky to have him. Will be hopeful we get him again.

CBC will be nothing short of ridiculous if they are anti Canada and show bias favoring ANA but we know Hughson already has his amped up pro Kesssler call all prepared for round 2.
But guess what Hughson we have our cat call for Kesler prepared too and will drown out CBC.
Kes-ler, Kes-ler, Kes-ler...

It's a shame Chirs Cuthbert is not calling the games. He was great calling the 2004 Flames run.

Hughson should serve his punishment having to watch the Flames carry on through round 2 from the booth.

That was a joke. And Hughson/Simpson have called the last 7-8 Stanley cup finals. They are the number one crew for the folks at HNIC.

Hughson calls a good game as long as the Canucks aren't involved.
I think he'll be fine now that they're out... here's to hoping anyway.
