You can't win this game no matter how hard you try. Insults are meant to insult and offend; therefore, someone somewhere will be offended by something in them. Sports game entertainment is rooted into one group of people hating another for no reason other than allegiance to the team they've chosen to cheer for. It is ultimately dumb, senseless and illogical but the fans love it anyway for the kick of that wonderful winning feeling once in a while. Insults and trash talk are a part of the process that's been invented and cultivated by the show producers since Roman gladiator fights.

High horse is comfortable to sit on but not that useful to ride. One keeps falling off it all the time.
The joke doesn't depend on the standard of beauty used. Could be whatever you personally are or aren't attracted to. You could also say they bang animals if you like or each other (not an insult because they'd be gay but because it's incest.)

So lots of great options without going down the racist, sexist, homophobic alley.

I was a kickass hockey, basketball, volleyball and tennis player. I could out-skate, out-shoot, and out play most guys I knew when I was younger.

But as a woman, I would never be crazy enough to think I could compete with a man at any of these sports on a professional level. Men are bigger, stronger, and faster than women for the most part. It's just a fact. I don't get why it's an issue or why anyone argues about it. Facts are not sexist.

Where's your set Rouge? Must be in the mail, eh?

I've always found it amusing that "grow a pair!" is meant to imply to become manly, while calling someone a "p*ssy" is an insult.

I mean, really. Hit a guy in the balls and see how he reacts. Pretty much completely incapacitates him for a while. They're not the toughest part of the anatomy.

Meanwhile, a woman pushes actual human beings out of that part that's a euphemism for wimp, and manages to deal with more pain than most men will ever experience. Heck of a lot more toughness from that body part than a man's pair.

you're all seen the German Volkswagon commercial with the German accents. Do that with Asians or Africans and it's racist.

They are a German company. Making fun of your own race isn't considered racism.

I don't think Hyundai or Toyota could do that. Not on Canadian tv.

lol the fact that we have to ask if people have an issue with that shows how pathetic this is getting.

Does it show that? Like in some objectively measurable way?

If they took the slant that Asians are bad drivers and that is why the need cars that have high safety ratings....then no.

It's a silly comparison to make for a number of reasons:

a) As stated it's a German company making a joke about Germans. It's the same stuff Molson Canadian gets away.

b) German isn't a race or an ethnicity.

c) German stereotypes, as far as I know, haven't been used historically as a basis for discrimination and mistreatment. The same cannot be said for Asians in Canada.

Yes. We can measure it by the amount of harmless jokes that are edited away cause of this.

I just edited a post saying Burrows has his period cause of this "issue".

That's 1.
