Hey guys,

I am heading out tomorrow to Edmonton with another member on the forum to attend this battle of Alberta. Hope to see Sam Bennett get a taste of the BoA!

If anyone else if cruising up or attending, send me a PM. It would be awesome to attend with a group of CPuck members tomorrow night! We are still looking to buy tickets, but would appreciate if we can focus on an area of the area.

GO FLAMES!

IF he plays at all, itll be in sheltered 4th line type minutes. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasnt seen much of Bob Hartley yet.

OT but in all these projected lines I've only seen Byron once. Is he hurt again?

I believe he tweaked his ankle when he came back as far as I know. I can't recall anything officially stating this though.

Here is a link from a pre-game Blues story - Near the end of the article Bob talks about how Byron is still feeling pain from the lower body injury but could skate with the team (don't know in what capacity that means - practice/pregame warm-up/actual game) in Edmonton today.

I am a season ticket holder with the Kingston Frontenacs. Sam Bennett is so much like Doug Gilmour with superior vision to make those sneaky passes that few can make. His stickhandling is something that can't be taught . He plays gritty and isn't afraid of the dirty areas and loves to get under the skin of the other teams players. He gives 100% every game just like his hockey idol Doug Gilmour . That is why he picked the number 93 in Kingston . Once he gets used to the NHL speed he will help any 3rd line in the NHL as a rookie.
Being a Calgary fan (I lived there for 10 years 1980 to 1990) I was so excited when they drafted him and am really pumped now that I hear they called him up. I got to know him personally away from the ice and can tell you he is a class act.
He is very good in both ends of the rink and him being a Gilmour fan that should not surprise the Calgary fans who watched Doug many years ago.
Whe you see him slide a slick pass into a spot that few could see and it lands on the tape of a players stick and ends up in the net you will see what I mean.

Apparently Wills said in the morning skate, Bennett was slotted on the 5th line which hints that he might be scratched for this one. If he does not get in tonight, I would assume he gets in vs. Phoenix on tuesday. He is going to help the Flames get into the playoffs, I can not wait.

We are kind of used to those passes with Gaudreau, but good to know there is more to come!

It makes sense to sit Bennett at least two of the final four games, that way Calgary doesn't have to burn a year off Sam's ELC unless the Flames make the 2nd round... two of the last season games + a 6 or 7 game 1st round series would equal 9 games at the most.

My understanding is that now that his season in Junior is finished, no matter how much the Flames play him this season and in the playoffs, it will not burn a year off his Entry level contract. Im 99% sure on this. So that has nothing to do with it.

Hartley may sit hm, but it has nothing to do with that. That decision was made when Bennett was sent to Calgary.
Hartley will ice the line up he thinks will best help the Flames win. Treliving won't step in now

If he plays in over 9 games no matter what, he will burn a year off of the ELC.

I know normally that is true. I thought because his Junior season is over, and the Flames are technically not taking him from his Junior team anymore, his entry level deal is now not affected. I could be wrong though, you might be right. Anyone know for sure? Im pretty sure Boomer was saying this on the Fan the other day. Maybe I misunderstood.

He is absolutely right. 10 games - including playoffs - burns a year

It's been talked about relentlessly here on CP since Bennett was ousted of the OHL playoffs. From everything I have read It doesn't matter how Bennett gets onto the Flames roster, he still burns games.

Don't care about ELC. Please ice Bennett so I can have a drink and forget about my god awful work. Bennett is pretty much the highlight of my week if he plays.
