I would agree with that, but so far she's the only one that's been really punished for being completely caustic.
Remember Dan's little speech to her, and some of the others.
While Shirim isn't a good player let alone a winning player, she also failed to take advantage of her ability to divide the camp.
The social aspect really comes into play when people get to the end and realize that the social aspect becomes huge once the jury gets empowered.
None of the players in this years game have been very good in terms of building an alliance with the jury, however Mike is really closest to that and in my mind even more then Tyler is winning over the jury.
He also has a very staunch ally in Shirim and Holly and Jenn. She he's already nearly at that jury tipping point.

Pet peeve...you can't be assaulted verbally. That's a "crime tv show" only thing, and even then it had no basis in actual law.
You can be verbally abused. You can be verbally harassed. You can't be verbally assaulted.

I was reading up on that, and its true that Verbal Assault isn't a crime unless it includes a physical threat, or its considered hate speech.
But to the victim, verbal assault is a very real thing.

I think that Shirin and Haley sitting over at the jury box will be able to frame a lot of arguments the way they want. Both of them seemed very good that way. I think it will be interesting.

Ok so since they don't tolerate people being physically abused or harassed, will they put up a no tolerance for verbal abuse or verbal harassment?
I appreciate the correction, I really do, but was it that hard to see the point I was trying to make?

And you know that Jenn's goal is purely to wreck the games of the people that she really can't stand, she should in theory be a lightning rod in the finale.
Dan and Rodney's really bad behavior towards the girls is going to cost them, especially when Sierra gets to the Jury.
If I'm playing the game, I come to the realization that there is noway that I want a girl next to me in front of a jury. Though Mamma Cass is really reviled by Jenn, Shirim and Haley.

No, it wasn't that hard to see the point you were making. I should have addressed the point in addition to the pet peeve.
I'm not sure where Survivor goes with this, honestly. Do they (or a judge) consider what Will said to be verbal abuse in the first place? Or was it just like any other argument any other contestant's had with any other contestant over the 30 seasons? Shirin felt it was abuse, but was it actually? Would a judge agree with her? Or is Will just being an insensitive clod (makes him a jerk, but is not illegal).
If Survivor clamps down on any potential verbal abuse...we'll end up with 18 people sitting around a fire doing nothing as they are afraid of saying anything. It's a difficult position for them, as it's pretty easy to see physical abuse, harassment or assault. It's harder to see where the line's drawn for verbal abuse.

Agreed, how boring would that be...
I would say that a lot of viewers watch Survivor for the drama that goes along with the show.

Speculation that there will be an announcement after tonight's episode about a voting campaign the next few weeks to vote returning castaways for a second chances theme next season...
Rumored candidates (no one on season 30 revealed yet, so nothing spoiled from the current season):

You know what I want a survivor all star season that features all of the players voted out first. The obnoxious fools, the people that physically died in the first challenge, the morons who couldn't or wouldn't build a fire or shelter.
We'll call it Survivor incompetence.

Well, that was an interesting show, though nothing particularly suspenseful. It pretty much played out as anyone could expect. I'm finding it interesting that folks are keeping Dan around (likely as he'd be an easy beat in a jury) despite his advantage.
Though I can also see how it was hugely to Carolyn's advantage to get rid of Tyler. Now no one knows she's sitting on an Idol, and she's playing a pretty good game.
Rodney...wow, spoiled little temper tantrum brat much?

Love the vote them on the show gimmick... Just voted I'm a sucker for old school survivors so I voted for Varner, Wiggles, and Kimmie... after them I voted for Stephan (cause I listen to RHAP)... then Kass and Abi Marie for the drama then I voted for younger/athletic contestents to up the "look good in swimwear" factor.

Voted for Stephen too. I'm a fan of Rob Has A Podcast as well, and have the most interest in seeing him play again. Others I wanna see are Joe, Spencer, Woo, Shirin, Kass, and Abi.
Tonight's episode felt mostly predictable, will be interesting to see these people turn on each other and how Mike will factor in that next week. Can see a Mike + the women alliance since they voted together tonight. Did you also know it was Rodney's birthday???

All on my ballot as well... only problem with the lists IMO is that the average age is rather high. Even more recent contestents (Jeremy/Kass/Max etc. etc.) trend towards the older average survivor.

sadly I just went to check out the official cbs page to vote, and well, let's just say the 5 from season 30 are on there, including a few who were still in the game after tonight's episode. So i'm guessing they are gonzo balonzo in the next week or two.

How do Dan and Tyler end up voting for Mike?
Dan I can see, he's an idiot. But Tyler, we were lead to believe, was a decent player and he knew that Mike was gunning for him. Putting your hopes of staying in the game on a player not using his idol when it's 6 vs 1 is stupid. Tyler is now the most overrated player simply because he wont go down as one of the most stupid players in Survivor history.
It's fun getting surprised at tribal with the votes, but sometimes it sucks we can't see the actual discussions taking place. Why did Sierra vote Tyler? There's potential that Carolyn just told her to and she just went with it but there's also potential she's playing a really good game, relative to the other dumbos, and was able to take advantage of the crack in the 'final 4' that she knew was there. She's never been a target and she did seem to be the only one (outside of Mike) to make relationships with the jury members. Given her edit it's almost certain she doesn't make final tribal, but would be nice to see how she's actually playing the game.
That's the nice thing about Big Brother happening in real time, they can't completely ignore important conversations when they don't know how much it will matter down the road.
Didn't see a next time on Survivor but if it's known the 3 people who went on reward also voted together, wouldn't that be a bit suspicious? Then again, it's Dan, Rodney and Will so they probably wont clue in.

Maybe... could be a bait and switch. Throw the winner in there so people think they have no chance and make the win more dramatic.
Personally I think the following people are as close to locks as possible...
Spencer (well-liked, populer season, recency bias)
Stephan (well-liked, has a continuing presense with fans post-show via RHAP and People mag)
Shirin (well-liked, populer season, recency bias)
Kelly (well-liked, populer season, nostalgia factor)
... there are others who are close to locks but not quite on the level with these four.

I think Woo is a lock as well. He was a really popular cast member in his season.
