Completely different strategies. Empty net is about crashing the net, mayhem, etc. PP is about plays to the open ice.

Did I miss something?!? Was Matt Cooke traded to the Flames?

Because according to Galley, the Flames are getting a lot of offence from their "backside".

Is Ortio our best goaltender of the post-Kipper era? He's so spry.

Burrows stabbing at Ortio's glove. Such a creep.

Ortio covers the posts much better/quicker and with more awareness than Hiller

Garry Galley played in two All Star Games? Did everyone else on his team decline?

Agreed, but the intensity for both could be the same--the PP looks pretty lackadaisical lately.

And whatever happened to getting the puck back to the point, and screening the goalie? When struggling, simplify, man!

Flames looking sloppy. Ortio and the posts have been solid.

Where are you getting that from? This half game? Or the mediocre stint he had last season?

The way last night's game went, Hiller would have found a way to knock those three Canucks' crossbars into the net.

Byron is effective for his role and his salary. He's a bottom 6 forward that creates some opportunities and also energy. I don't understand the hate for him.

He's not useless, he's a great hockey player. He's just had some very bad luck with his breakaways lately. He is a finesse player, quick as hell and he's a hard worker.

Well, the intensity for the whole game could be the same. But it isn't. They've been trying for point shots but the opposing teams have been focussing on the point over the last 10 games or so.

Hate is a real strong word, I just think he's incredibly frustrating sometimes. It sucks seeing the guy get a breakaway because I know he's not gonna score.
