Yakapov and Eberle will be traded before Hall is IMO.

I think if there's one consistency that the Oilers brass has shown, it's that they don't give a rat f*** about the fans. They care about proving themselves right, no matter how deep their hole gets.

Taylor Hall grew up in Calgary that's why his favorite team was Calgary.
People always speculate that player-so and so is a cancer on the team and most of the time, it wasn't even close to the truth. Maybe some of his teammates does not like him because he does not like to back check or he is still trying to grow up. All I can say is, if he becomes available for trading, I am sure there are going to be some team who will overpay just to get him. Look how Tyler Seguin turned out in Dallas. People speculated he was a troublemaker in Boston also.

Maybe Buffalo is willing to give up their 1st round pick from St. Louis and Myers as part of a package for Hall.

I would think the Flames would have serious interest if Hall was available but since he is an Oiler there is no deal to be made. Per Mckenzie the flames will not hesitate to add a big name player if he fits the plans long term. A 23 year old fits the bill but there is no chance a blockbuster of that magnitude would happen between our teams.

Honestly if he is the problem, it just maybe be a scenario where it is addition through subtraction. I think the brain trust has come to the realization if hall is still around he just may submarine the next rebuild.

Hall is like ovechkin without the physical dominance, goal scoring ability and charisma.
Hall is like...Alex Semin, again, without the goal scoring.

What? He's not what he's hyped up to be from Oiler fans, but he's certainly a very talented, valuable piece.

I could see Hall traded to LA (for second tier players), sat by Sutter through a whole game, only to score a nice goal. He's perfect for that role.

Thats actually the problem, he is far from certain of anything. Its the uncertainty thats the problem.

Semin is also talented. A recent PPG guy on a weak team (like Hall).

He is certainly a one-dimensional forward who hurts his team’s defence at least as much as he helps its offence. To score 80 points and still be a minus player is the work of a real hero.
(As the late, great McLean & McLean used to say: ‘Any idiot can piss on the floor. It takes a real hero to s### on the ceiling.’)
He’s talented, I grant you. That does not make him valuable. Pavel Brendl was talented, but in the NHL he had no value at all. Taylor Hall has more value than Brendl had, but not nearly as much as the Oilers think.

Taylor Hall has tremendous physical talent.
That can't be denied.
What that amounts to as a player on a winning team is entirely up for debate.
The NHL is filled with talented players who struggle to put their talent together with the demands of winning.
I would say that is the area where most young offensive players struggle: being able to reconcile their roles as scorers with the demands of winning. That's where coaching comes in. In some estimations, Baertschi is undergoing that process right now.
The point is, though, some players never figure it out, or never figure it out sufficiently to help them become consistent winners. That's where Edmonton has dropped the ball with their key players, but the players also shoulder some of that responsibility as well, especially in the face of mounting failure.

If Hall played in Calgary the way he does in Edmonton, he'd have Burke, Hartley and Giordano taking turns slapping him in in circles so hard he'd end up travelling back in time.

Can't say I agree with any of you with regards to Hall outside of pieces that Flash Walken said, He's had 2 seasons over a PPG, I don't see how you can say he doesn't have a lot of value. Unfair to group him in with guys like Semin, Brendl, etc. If there was any form of structure or accountability in Edmonton I'm sure others would have a different tune. The kid has essentially been given the keys to the city, not surprising his ego is outta control.

And both those teams can pay a good price for Hall. Makes sense.

I would think if Boston is involved the Oilers should be asking for Hamilton. Maybe a Hamilton and Subban for Hall?

If Hall is on the table the Oilers will be asking for Lucic. Guaranteed.
They may not get him, but he'll be what they are looking at.

Key word is "would".
So, Lebrun is speculating without substance and Dreger is spamming it.
Ugh.
