This is what happens when you allow Healy into the Saddledome.

Man really hope Gio and Russell are OK! Engelland looks totally overwhelmed, he can't handle this kind of speed.

Baertschi looking as good as I've seen him yet this year - hope he puts one in the net tonight.

Could be something like a scratched cornea on Gio. He popped up pretty well, and no obvious blood.

Would rather have seen a cut than damage to the actual eye.

How about we wait for a diagnosis from the medical professionals.

Brodie is going to log a lot of minutes tonight... Actually, the 4 guys left will all have a tonne of ice time. Hopefully Gio and Russell are ok and can come back

Derek Wills mentioned that the fact there was no blood suggests his eye was the source of contact.

No news on Gio yet? This is scary. I'll bet Wotherspoon is already on a plane to Calgary.

that's not really fair... the eye was never the target... just what got hit.

Yeah, the way he was blinking combined with his reaction and sense of urgency seems to suggest the eye.

I'm going to lose my mind if all we find out about Gio tonight is 'upper body injury'. Not because I have the right to his medical records, but because I need to know when I can stop shaking from anxiety.

Edit: As a medical professional, the mechanism also immediately made me assume eye, obvious traumatic injury like scratched cornea being most likely. Of course, that's like seeing a knee bend funny after a hit and assume ACL.

Jesus, relax, it's just a guess. I have a little bit of experience with scratched corneas, and it looked like something that's possible.

If it is, it's not serious, but he'd be out for the game in all likelihood.
