This combo would be a step up from what we've had lately. I'm not against Hrudey. I'm willing to wait and see how he does. He's knowledgeable and comes across as a pro. I'm just hoping he's a little more Flames centric since he'll be our man.

Lee/Hrudey would be a pretty sweet combo for Flames broadcasts. Quite the upgrade really. Hoping this comes to fruition.

Ball was my favorite CBC PBP guy for sure. It wasn't even close.

Variety would be nice. It's reminiscent of the broadcasts in the 80s when Garrett or Neale would provide color with Whelan.

Seriously? He's brutal. Puts you to sleep. If he was any good tsn would have scooped him up when they had the rights. He got the job at cbc because better people like cuthbert left and he got the job by default.

Lee? LEE?

You people realize who you're calling an upgrade, right? It was a godsend when Ball took over for half of our HNIC broadcasts last season, I was getting so sick of Mark Lee. And now he might call most of the entire Flames season? May the hockey gods help us... His 'excited' voice sounds so fake and forced and not very sports commentator-like. He sounds like a guy who should be calling alpine skiing or olympic diving, not hockey. He has such a limited vocabulary when calling pbp, it gets horribly repetitive. At least Kerr tried to be creative, even if you were throwing your arms up in the air with every new line... it was at the very least entertaining.

I'm okay with Hrudey so long as he doesn't start the trash talking anti-homer thing again. But since the rebuild began he's really changed his tone towards the team. I think he was just getting sick of the old man's club.

Lee is a pro. We've dealt with a couple years of an amateur (albeit a hard worker and passionate guy) PBP guy. It's an improvement no matter how you slice it.

Oh he's a seasoned pro - at stinking up hockey broadcasts.

I wanted to chop off my ears listening to his CBC game calls after a couple years. Can't the Jets just hire him?... Ball for the Flames, please. He made having the volume on for BoA broadcasts fun again.

Just goes to show you cannot please everyone. I'll take Lee calling games 100 times out of 100 over Kerr and Simmer. I wish that they activated Rick Ball for the duties though. He and Hrudey are a solid Tandem.

Just really surprised that folks are going to be upset that Lee is replacing probably the worst PbP guy I've ever heard. I get that Kerr is a huge part of the Flames on the Fan and is a great GREAT radio guy but come on... being upset that Lee may be the guy to take over the SN PbP is pretty strange.

The bar has been set so low that it would be hard to downgrade. But Lee lacks passion and goes through the motions. Kerr to his credit had passion and enthusiasm and Lee does not project either.
