Wohooo! Please finish them off in game 6. Can't stand the Wild for all of those boring division match-ups over the years. Also Matt Cooke.

Wild had the puck in the zone for the whole last minute and couldn't get a puck on net. Need to do better than that

They had already used up their top players by then it seemed. Yeo had Heatley and Brodziak out there for the final minute.

As I wrote that I started to doubt my own memory. He seriously had 2/3 of his fourth line out there for the final minute?

Yeah, confirmed it at hfboards. Yeo had his fourth line on the ice in the final minute.

Brodziak for sure and I definitely remember hearing Heatley's name. Third forward could have been Parise.
EDIT: so I see Brodziak, Heatley, Coyle, Niederreiter. Yeo must have thought that the best players were too tired to finish the game.

Yeo had also already burned his TO. He out-coached himself at the end. That, and the Wild just doesn't have anyone approaching Toews for clutch-ness. Hawks won at home. And they got it together after they turned in a dreadful first period. Credit to them.

I think MIN will hold serve at home. Back to CHI for game 7, and hopefully O/T.

Give Minnesota credit, I thought they were going to get swept, but they've made this quite a series.

It's been a step forward from the previous season for them. They also have room for improvement for next year. Goaltending, defense can be improved relatively easily.
They ought to be careful about who they sign - right now their young players are doing more than Pominville and Moulson have in these playoffs.
I'm having a hard time believing they beat Chicago this year. In fact I think their season ends tonight.

I can't believe Bryz's seeming lack of puck awareness...yeah, he gets a lot of "positional" saves, but he seems unfocused, and often seems to have no clue as to where the rebounds go...he also seems nonchalant when he leaves the blue paint.
Of course, I would like to see a 'Hawk win here, but moreover, I would like to see the Wild tagged for their neutral zone pick play on zone entries (See the last Haula goal for an example)...a pet peeve of mine is inconsistent rule application, and I have ranted before that referee's "not wanting to affect outcomes" DO affect outcomes, by NOT making appropriate calls...it hasn't just been THIS series either, there has been ridiculous non-calls in ALL the games I've seen, this playoffs (and how does Crosby get away unfined for trying to castrate that Ranger?)...the other hugely inconsistent call has been the interference on the forecheckers, where the puck carrier dumps the puck along the boards behind the D-Man, and goes to get it. This call was made closely for the first half of the season, but, the playoffs seem to bring back "clutch and grab" hockey with impunity.
At any rate, I feel (and hope) that quality at forward will win out in this series...and Kane, Sharp and Hossa get clicking.

Not at all since they have unreal depth on the wing that is easily the class of the league.
Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Saad, Versteeg, Bickell, Shaw.
All they are missing is a good second line center. Kruger is fine if you can drop him down the line up and play him as a three. They just need to replace Handzus.

Well I'm no expert on the Hawks but from my perspective all I can say - again - is that after Saad your list is unimpressive to me.
Compare their forwards to LA and you see depth that one would associate with elite teams. To me they depend on their two star forwards more than other top teams.
