I don't think for one second that Hartley wanted a brawl on the ice to start the game. However, his strategy to see if he can intimidate the Canucks was a good one. I think the team finally realized that they cannot be pushed over and that guys like Bouma and McGrattan are rewarded for their hard work on the ice. The team, IMO, is rallying for the coach. I think Hartley should get nominated for the coach of the year or even get coach of the year if the Flames reach 10th overall in the conference by the end of the year. Hope that doesn't happen as this team really needs to focus on a true rebuild rather than occasional emotional rally that result in short term success.

The "Hartley is Terrible" crowd should take a long break from CP. He might be coach of the year.

It is truly amazing how much more entertaining this team is this year vs previous seasons.
Can anyone imagine pulling off these wins/staying in these games with that Sad Sack tanguay on the roster? Yeesh, good riddance that particular brand of rubbish.
Give me a team full of Backlund and Bouma's every day.

As a member of the 'I don't like Hartley' club he has been nothing but spectacular this season in terms of having the team prepared to compete on a nightly basis.
Having a team full of lunch buckets surely helps, but he's done a great job.

Let's not go nuts. This is still a lottery team at the end of the day. That title is Roy's to lose this season.

Clearly coach of the year is Dallas Eakins. There's sure something special up there!

He was doing a few things late last year that had nothing to do with Backs which I didn't like (Butler playing first pairing minutes for example) but has definitely grown lots on me.

I think Monahan has taken another step and I'm thrilled that he's playing with Cammalleri now. He looks far less nervous than he did at the start of the year and way less tentative than he did immediately coming back from his injury. He's just a fantastic player. Can't wait to watch as he becomes a star.

The coach of a lottery team might be the coach of the year?
I like what Hartley is doing with this team, but really?

If it means Vancouver misses the playoffs, I would push the rebuild back a year just to stick it to them.

Hartley will not win coach of the year on a bottom 5 team but he is doing a heck of a job with this team and our young guys are motivated and developing nicely. I'm impressed.

I don't find them as bad as most people do, I almost got a Monny one too.
Definite downgrade from last years 3rds though, + being cursed. No thanks.

yeah ... as an organization, you know it's probably time to think about them again once your coach begs you to wear different ones. Might as well retire those abominations immediately. I myself am not a superstitious person at all, but I can totally understand that the team doesn't want to wear the 0-8 jerseys after winning 4 straight games in the "normal" ones.

I hear ya, I hated them at first, worst thing I had ever seen on a player. However I grew to almost like them, I certainly don't love them by any means but it's something different and it's really not that bad.
