I'm not a big fan of the jokes about Johnny either. I think the guy needs encouragement, not the GM of the team hoping he signs with making comments like that about aspects of himself he can't really control. Burke should be saying something more along the lines of "yeah he's tiny, and it'll be a long uphill climb to make it at this level at all, but we'll work with him to bulk up." But whatever. I sure don't think anybody in the NCAA right now is finding his stature anything to scoff at.

But really Burke should spend more time trying to be a comedian on the streets, and less in his organizational pressers and meetings.

I bet Burke doesn't even know that. If he did, I'm sure he tread a lot more lightly around Johnny..........if he only knew the power that Gaudreau currently yields, he'd surely be more careful.

I'm just saying. Feaster was high on this kid, and raved about how teams were offering a lot for the rights to him (specifically recall boston).

Burke might not be high on him (ie...values him less than feaster did). Assuming those amazing offers are still out there...why wouldnt he consider them? The would look more compelling to burke than they did to feaster.

If he does not sign with Calgary, do you really believe that Burkes comedic comment would have any influence on his decision?

I doubt it, but if he did so what? Why would that concern anyone, at least until we know what he'd be traded for. The guy has yet to play a single professional hockey game, doesn't even play major junior, and as Burke mentions is tiny. I'm actually pretty excited about him (although I will admit I'm no expert in judging prospects), but the odds of this kid becoming a player of any significance I the NHL are pretty minimal! yet folks on here act like he lays golden eggs.
