It's been rumoured that a Canadian domestic league in conjunction with the CFL is set to start in 2017. A primary driver of this league is all the Canadian sports channels that need to fill airtime.
It would be great for our national team if it happened.
I am 100% behind this new league should it come to fruition. It wouldn't be a silver bullet in our national teams doing better, but it would be a big step in developing better talent by giving them more professional opportunities.
Ridiculous game between the Timbers and Sporting KC last night. Sporting KC ties the game late, goes up in extra time, only to have the Timbers score a very late equalizer.
It goes to kicks, many chances to win are missed by SKC, including one attempt that hits both posts and out. It ends in the 11th round at keeper vs keeper.
All this was exciting, but as a TFC fan, it came right after watching your team get smoked 3-0, then seeing the guy you traded away for what currently amounts to nothing score the equalizer (Urruti) it was slightly depressing.

As someone who's watched TFC pander to MLS and the USSF the last 3 years, I'm kind of glad they lost. Maybe when they stop signing high priced American talent at the request of MLS who don't step it up when the game actually matters they can win. And that backline, what a nightmare! #ThatsSoTFC
Also, to see Kyle Bekker come on for the Impact and almost score in extra time against his old team was icing on the cake. He was given a rough ride in Toronto (and he deserved it based on his play), but he's really improved in his time with the Impact. Might even be able to turn his career around into a consistently competent MLS player

I'm excited for the 'Caps and Timbers playoff. Two well built teams, and two great fan bases. The 'Caps have been excellent this year, although until their win last weekend, it was looking like they may have peaked too early. Hopefully that win can get the confidence going again.
It would be great to see a couple of Canadian teams make a deep run.
I think Vancouver are breathing a sigh of relief after the Timbers win last night. They would have been destroyed by Seattle, who've had their number all year in MLS and CCL. I think any of the 4 teams could come out of the West, although Seattle has my vote.
Also, if you want to checkout the penalty shootout from last night, here's a condensed version. Absolutely insane. https://streamable.com/rd1o
The Caps insistence of playing with one forward all season kills me. Put Mattocks up there with Rivero. Rivero had been brutal since June, but he's also isolated every game.
Last night was my first ever soccer game live. The crowd was pretty dead other than the 50 or so Portland fans in one corner but the Whitecaps played pretty bad so I don't blame them.
I honestly wish this level of support and enthusiasm upon every supporters group.
I'm a fan of two of the more prominent fan groups of other sports in the U.S. (LSU, New Orleans Saints), and it doesn't come close to comparing to what we have in Portland.
The 107ist non-profit arm of the Timbers Army does a ton to support the community in Portland. The amazingly talented creators of the tifo, as well as the merchandise created for the TA. Get on our level, please! It'll only make the league better.

Well, guess I gotta add a star to the old Timbers Army tattoo. Well deserved.
TSN was showing curling and missed the start of the game. 2-0 when the feed cut over. I watched the MLS final, and missed all goals by the winning team. Brutal.

I was lucky enough to switch to TSN 4.
