Great compete level by the Flames and fully deserving of a regulation win.
Brodie was the best player on the ice for either team. Hrudey was praising Doughty all night - and deservedly so, I agree with him about him being the best d-man in the league - but it was a shame because they were so focused on him they missed an incredible performance from Brodie. Easily his best game in the NHL.
(Trade him for McGinn.. lol)
Russell with another great game. And O'Brien with probably his best game as a Flame. Lots of compete from everyone - maybe as much as I have ever seen from Stajan for instance.
Congrats to Ramo on a great game.
Suck it Healy, you bitter, contemptuous moron.

Its his staple diet.
Apologies for being so late, but I've just watched this one. I'm so glad I managed to avoid the score all day.

People are critical of him cause he's not a top six forward... But for the cheap price the flames paid for him, he doesn't need to be.

For the most part I would disagree that people are critical of him. What seems like criticism towards Joe is more criticism to where he has been slotted in the line up. I agree 100% he has great 3rd line C potential....its when Hartley has him on higher lines with more skilled guys where he looks a bit lost.

I really like Joe Colborne too and you hit it right in the head. He is a perfect 3rd line centre for now. I am not sure he is ready for more responsibilities like playing as a first line centre or even second line centre. Maybe in another season or so, he will be a good top 6 forward. We have to realize that this is Joe Colborne first season in the NHL that he plays more and he is still young. He's got the skill and the size(although he needs to bulk up a little more) to be the 1st line centre someday. I just love that he is improving every single game.

If we get either Reinhart or McDavid or even both (please please please hockey gods) That'll be a 1-2 (or the next Pittsburgh Penguins center chart if the hockey gods are kind enough to bless the wretched Flames) punch down the center line.
Imagine McDavid and prime Gaudreau on a line together, like jesus man.
While I think Colborne looks great and shows excellent potential, I still don't see him going beyond a 3rd line C. It's nothing on his skill level and potential. I just think he'd be great for a 3rd line C behind Reinhart/McDavid and Monahan.

The way the lottery odds are now, the sabres will only have ~25% chance of winning the 1st overall pick. With them, it's more the fact that they know that they'll get either the best defenseman or the best forward in the draft... Even if they pick 2nd

60% chance the lotto falls to one of the bottom 3 teams.
I don't think we'll be last, Buffalo is already miles ahead of everybody there. And I'm not sure we'll be second last either, as one of Florida, Isles or Jackets will probably find a way to beat us there. But 3rd is definitely a possibility. Not that I'm hoping we're that bad the rest of the way, but I just think it's realistic given the team and injuries that just seem to keep piling up.
3rd means a decent chance at moving up with the lotto to grab Reinhart or Ekblad, and even if not, Dal Colle would likely be there for the taking. Big, power forward type center who's tearing it up in the O right now. Wouldn't be a bad day..
But if Florida ends up below us, you can bet they're going after the best D available..
(yes I'm hoping for Ekblad)

More plausible odds.
