Yuppers. I don't give two craps about where Hall, Nuge and Yakupov were drafted. Eberle is the most overrated player in the league.
I guess if you count that they have 5 giordanos they prob have the edge on defense then....

Picketing in front of the NHL offices calling for a ban on hard hits to his body.

who on the Flames is better or more valuable than Hall or Eberle? obviously their team has holes and I hope the Flames are better than the current oilers in 4 years or so but right now?
I bet you would have a hard time finding anyone who is not a Flames fan that would prefer the Flames roster...75% of the Calgary roster is not even in the long term plans
I like your team spirit though!

Giordano, Wideman, Hudler, Cammalleri? Hall and Overrated don't make peanuts anymore. They are both on a long term $6million per deals along with PeanutBrittle-Hopkins.

Then they underrate just how bad we are.
A one period comeback on a rookie goaltender in his first season in north america. Oh yeah, you've really turned the corner now, Oil stains.

Meh. We are what we are. A rebuilding team that will likely draft quite high. Take it as a positive that most of our young pieces are starting to contribute and getting lots of experience.
Year one folks. Don't take it so serious, sit back and crack a beer and enjoy the good plays from the developing players, and don't get too upset when the inevitable learning related breakdowns occur.

So, if both teams are out of it why couldn't either team celebrate a win over the other; especially since both were/are mired in lengthy losing streaks? What else is there to feel good about for either team for the rest of the season except beating your closest rivals?

But what do you expect from our butlersoft team?

Re: the Ference episode, I think it had nothing to do with Stempniaks hit. It was purely about a frustrated captain who was sick of his team being outplayed & losing ; taking his frustrations out while sending a message to his team. Nothing to do with thinking it was a dirty hit from Stempy, he just hit the wrong guy at the wrong time!

Flames are going to trade Cammi for a late 1st rounder best case in a few months.
again I like the spirit, Flames don't have anyone even near the value of Hall or Eberle. Come on dude the Flames tried to trade cammy this offseason and there were no takers

one team is in the first year of a rebuild...Flames and Oilers should have very different expectations

I understand fans want to see the kids but a lot of the guys you mentioned are developing well in the AHL. Do we really want to put them in a position to fail in the NHL? Do we want to show them how to lose and lose or let them win and win in the AHL and gain confidence and grow together?
Our AHL team is on a 9 game winning streak. I think letting most of the kids stay down there in a winning environment where they seem to be developing well is a much better idea then throwing them to the wolves here when some of them aren't ready and letting them lose and lose.

Yea Cammalleri will get good return if he's traded at the deadline. Especially if he keeps up this goal scoring pace.

Expectations are just that; we can only deal with current realities I'm afraid & the reality for both teams is no sniff at the playoffs so you enjoy the little victories when they come. There is little else for this season whatever expectations were 2 months ago.
