-Much, much, much faster.
-Better, bigger screen.
-Better battery life. Granted mine was really crapping out and could barely last +6 hours.
-Feels nice and light, with leather back. Harder to scratch up if you don't use cases like me.
-Ability to keep phone fresh for the next two years with android updates.
I wouldn't put much more thought into upgrading if you're not settled on the S2 anymore. It should be worth it.

Just a quick note. The black one has the grippy back/sides. The white model is smooth and slippery.

So no one else has any issues with notifications (specifically voice mail and missed calls) on the Nexus 5?
In doing Google searches, there are tons of people having these issues (both in Canada and the U.S.)...surprised I don't see anyone here (unless I didn't read far enough back in this thread).

Yup. People leave VM's on my phone but I don't get the little VM icon in the notification center. I do get a missed call one so I still know to check VM's.

Only had issues with voicemails every once in awhile. Like one in every four wouldn't show up in my notifications. Missed calls are fine.
I'm having issues with the speaker if anything. There seems to be a software bug where if you turn your phone to silent for an extended period of time it doesn't seem to come back until a restart?

In general terms for storage, does 16 GB go very far?

You on Telus? Seems Telus is not an issue for some reason. AT&T, Rogers, the list goes on. Problems reported:
- No voicemail icon or notification until reboot.
- No notification of missed calls via LED.
- During a call, screen unlocks and stays unlocked for inactivity timeout period (meaning if the phone is in your pocket and you don't hear the ring, it is unlocked and you could end up pocket dialing or doing all sorts of other things until it locks again).
- Notification/speaker volume very low. The ringer is on full and it's not easy to hear with any type of noise around you.
Thankfully, these all should be software fixes. Google is aware of these issues so we should see an update soon. Not sure if it is KitKat or Nexus 5 based, but I'm thinking KitKat.

Actually on Bell. I've had only voicemail notification problems and issues where sometimes on unlock after turning to silent, phone won't come out of silent mode and will stay silent.

Sounds like a Kit Kat issue.
My wife has a Nexus 4, with Kit Kat, and she's not getting VM notifications anymore. She's with Virgin.

Bell and Telus share some network space, so maybe that's why it works for you. And I agree, KitKat is to blame here. The unlock and no LED notification for voice calls is a Nexus issue I would say. There have been a few times as well that my wife has called me and it goes right through to voice mail, even though I'm not on my phone. Not sure about that issue and what would be responsible.

Not sure it is a KitKat issue onto itself, I am not having any issues on my device with notifications but it is not a Nexus device. Could be a combo of hardware, software and carrier. Strange problem none the less.

I think some of these may be a combination of device/KitKat. I'm sure Google will get it sorted out and updates will be pushed to the device. That's the nice thing about this Nexus 5. No waiting for Rogers for example to push updates.

I'm also getting some oddities with the N4 (on Wind) since upgrading to KitKat.
There are definitely some quirks to be worked out on the OS, but nothing that should detract someone from buying an N5. Bought one for my brother without any hesitation.

It really depends on what you plan on using it for. I'm not sure about this phone in particular, but a 16 GB phone will have 12 GB useable out of the box. Whereas a 32 GB phone will have about 27 GB available. You can get a 2 hour movie down to 700 MB, so 12 GB is 17 movies. But then how much space do you want for photos, apps, MP3s?
I have a 32 GB phone and I have around 10 GB free at any given time. I could ration it down if I had to. My previous phone was 16 GB, and I managed OK; but every so often I would have to make decisions about what to delete. To me, signing a 3 year commitment, it was worth $100 to not have to worry about space for the next 3 years. Given this is a no-contract phone, you might want to upgrade sooner; especially if you have less money invested.

Thanks ken0042. The photos and apps thing is hard for me to gauge. I have an iPod for music and movies, so I can't imagine putting a lot of them on the phone. Though the temptation to put a movie on there will be tempting at times, it will never be a long term thing - just synced from my PC or something.

I got my order in 7 business days but I ordered on launch, shipping tends to be busier this time of year.

Had mine for 4 days now. Pretty cool phone, but there are a few things I would like to change.
- I liked having the notifications show the number of unread messages on the icon (eg: the email icon with a "2" on it for 2 unread emails)
- I like the notification light that changes colour depending on what I got
- fast as hell
- has all the apps I need (same as apple, really)
The only thing that REALLY sucks (maybe you guys can help) is that I can't bring my music over from itunes. Apparently Music manager isn't available in Canada yet? This is a little annoying. I like having one device to cover everything, and this means I have to haul an ipod around
