Funny how easy the game can seem when you just put pucks on the net. Good play by Brassart.
Should be a hectic finish.

This thread brings back memories of the constant ripping Resolute gave me when my Warriors whooped up on the Hitmen. Glad to see it wasn't personal.

Fitting that Descheaneau ices the series. What a monster series for him and Reinhart.

Empty netter!
Hitmen never did stop Reinhart/Descheneau.
What an upset - awesome to see!

Hitmen showing what sore losers they are at the end.

Driedger didn't have a strong series at all IMO.

Congrats to the Ice for a well earned victory!
Not being to stop the duo of Reinhart and Descheneau was they reason for the Hitmen losing the series.

I am not surprised at all. Tough to go out like that but the Ice were the better team in the series. Second year in a row that penalties cost the Hitmen. Interesting offseason ahead for the team.

I disagree with the sore losers comment. Hitmen didn't quit and I would guess there was a build up of frustration (whole series) that was unleashed at the end of the game. It's a shame they didn't show that same passion during the rest of the series.

That's fair, but they responded the exact same way in game 1.
There just didn't seem to be any leadership on that team, just a bunch of kids who didn't have that 2nd level when the playoffs hit and then responded negatively when things didn't go their way.
Wonder if Williamson gets the boot this offseason. He never really had control over his team.

Game 1 seemed to rattle the Hitmen and they never did recover from that. It was if the Ice had gotten into the heads of the Hitmen players with their style of play and from there they lost thier composure.
I also wonder if Williamson is gone. He didn't seem able to come up with a way/plan to defend against the duo of Desheneau/Reinhart. I was and am still shocked at how much those 2 players dominated this series. Should never have happened.

Virtanen has now played 26 career playoff games. In those 26 games, he has 3 goals and 7 assists. I'll gladly give him a pass for being pointless in 5 games in his 15 year old season but is this a concern for Hitmen fans that he has yet to display an ability to turn up his game in the postseason?

I really wonder if he has a broken hand or something similar. Fought in the last regular season game, left the game, didn't return and never looked good in the series.

8 teams left!
Edmonton vs Brandon
Hat vs Cranbrook
Kelowna vs Seattle
Portland vs Victoria
Some awesome match ups here. Brandon will put up a fight but fall short to Edmonton. Cranbrook continues the great run by taking out the Hat.
West match ups are amazing. Kelowna survives a 7-gamer against Seattle and their goons, Victoria upsets Portland in 7.
