I could see us losing a few pre-season games, but I bet the puck drops for the season opener in the Saddledome.

Small update from the Flames website:

Quote:
6:30 PM - June 21 - Update: There has been siginificant water damage to the event level. We need to wait for the water to recede before we can assess the full extent of the damage. Restoration planning is currently underway.

Finally got to my first Flames game just a few weeks ago. I had so much fun. We were sitting in the 5th row, down in the attack zone, right on the aisle.

What a mess.

If you go up these stairs, you go to the small concourse area from which you access the green and orange sections behind the Flames' net. That's where that row of windows is between the red towers.

The concrete strip above the loading docks is the main concourse level, and the Club concourse is somewhere below that. From that photo, it's hard to judge how close the water is to the Club concourse, but it's nowhere close to the main concourse.
Yup -- that's what I was referring to. I can't recall if these are on both sides of the rink, but I'm assuming they are.

P.S. Sweet link to google streetview -- thanks for sharing

Is that all safe?

Would really suck if they lost all their data leading up to the draft.
No idea if they have off site back ups, but the video system is in a room off the coaches office and dressing room. It'll be toast if the water is in there.

Even worse, the hallways down there are lined with floor to ceiling cabinets. The contents? Video tape of every Flames game ever played. It's the complete archive, they have everything.

If the water is truly up into the seating bowl, it'll be submerged.

^ This is really sad to read. As a collector/memorabilia guy, it pains me to think of what gems could be sitting underwater right now.

If they truly just left that stuff there hoping for the best, wow. Stupidity.

No one had any idea that we would be experiencing anything of this magnitude until it was too late. You can't blame them for not knowing.

You could blame them. It's just a matter of it being right or wrong.
