Pit has more star power. More gifted top 4 in Crosby, Malkin, Iggy, Neal.
Crosby and Malkin alone can win a series.
Pit is quicker but not by much but i believe player by player they have the edge.
Pit has depth through out the roster.

Boston has better D.
Better in goal
Boston is more effective in physically wearing down their opponents in a 7 game series. Pit is no push over but they are not as physically taxing to deal with.
Boston also has depth through out the roster.

I hope the refs don't have PP's lop sided in either direction.

Some crappy bar in Pittsburgh is banning Sam Adams during the Bruins-Pens series because Sam Adams is made in Boston.

Wonder if they're going to ban freedom, too, since that's another great Boston export.

In retaliation all Boston bars are going to ban beer made in Pittsburgh that no one sells because Pittsburgh beers suck.

This will be the fifth time these two teams have played each other in the playoffs. The Bruins won the first two meetings as they swept the Penguins in the first round quarter finals in 1979 and then 3-2 in the preliminary round in 1980. In the 1991 and 1992 Prince of Wales Conference finals (semi-final or eastern conference final), the Penguins won 4-2 and 4-0 respectively.

One interesting note is that Jaromir Jagr played for the Penguins in both of the conference finals.

Here are the series preview links.

During the regular season, the record between these teams was 3-0-0 in favour of the Penguins. All games were decided by one goal and ended in regulation time. The most memorable game was the March 12 game. The Penguins were losing 2-0 with less than seven minutes left in the third period. They scored three goals in 4:15 to win 3-2, Brandon Sutter scored the tying and winning goals.

Vokoun and Rask were in goal for two games while Fleury and Khudobin were in for one game. The Penguins outscored the Bruins 8-5 in the three games. Both teams had two power play goals and zero shorthanded goals. Here are the post game links to the games.

You end up getting tickets? I've already spotted 3 Iginla Flames jerseys in the building in addition to my own.

Sorry, but I think that's pretty awesome.

I don't disagree. It's a great marketing that will garner more patrons to that bar to watch hockey.

That Crystal Glass ad with Taylor Hall was a little much.

The "blame it on the ######" game is fun for kids, I will admit that, but in this day engage, it shouldn't be used as a marketing gimmick.

Penguins have Crosby, Letang, and Neal from the 2005 draft. We picked Pelech, Baldwin, Ryder, Watt, Lalande, Keetley, Sutter, and Rumsey

None of those guys are are even in the NHL anymore. Same with our entire 2006 draft class, aside from Leland Irving who is AHL fodder at best anyway.

Yuck. Looks like NBC only gets this first game. At least on the NBC stations I get with Shaw. Which means I'll be forced to watch CBC after tonight. Damn.
